Good but conflicted

You ever read a book that was good and you liked it, yet you didnt like things about it?
That was this for me. I liked the story , world and character growth. The MC went from a feral anti social child to more, matured in personality, thought and power.

What I didnt like? Some of the MC choices and singular focus on things his way when there were better choices, like any stubborn teenager.
I also hate this book turns out to have a big bad and the cliche of prophecy. I truly hate prophecy books, feel so lazy and like the MC has no choice in how things go. No clue of that will be this but it feels like it.
The big bad I hate as it's always some impossible odds world ender, making the MC do things by luck and duex ex plot armor. I far prefer hard but possible enemies that smarts and training can overcome. The victory feels more earned then.

Despite all that I still liked this book as a whole and will buy the next.
Side note, love the narrator and glad to see him getting more work.

The main character seems a little all over the place for me high potential, but lacks the ability, while those things can be overcame, he doesn't seem like he wishes to fix those flaws. In himself and just kind of brute forces everything to work. Overall, the world building the environments. We're fantastic
