Thanks to Mirzayael in this entry. I am happy to report that Fyre goes from a filthy incompetent to a basic incompetent. Where I can't say there is any measurable character growth for the constantly dense waffling incompetencies of the MC. At least she has Mirzayael to gently inform her that she is a failure, and maybe she will be a bit less of a failure if she takes this action instead.
This is a relief. As I am really interested in the world setting of this story, and I would of been sad to set it aside due to not being able to stomach the MC.

Low key hoping that Fyre is killed off in place of Mirzayael and Dizzi taking over the fortress. Battle hardened warrior with a tragic past/abandonment issues, and a slightly unhinged magic technician vs the Gods. Would be good stuff.

This has been a book that as with the first that when I finish it I'm heart broken its over. This has probably become one of my absolute favorite series. I've absolutely fallen in love with these characters. I hope there are many many more books to come.

Better Than Book One

The audiobook quickly opens with the sound of a child shouting. Otherwise, the morals and ethics Fyre so desperately attempts to navigate is baby’s introduction to philosophy. The magic system continues to be fun to listen to. And some relatively interesting stuff finally starts to happen, if not resolved almost as quickly as it appears.
