PsyCop is an ongoing series filled with supernatural action and delightfully awkward humor–with a steady undercurrent of gay romance. It’s best listened to in order, so if you’re new to the series, start with PsyCop #1, Among the Living…and prepare for a hauntingly good listen.

Vic's still got what it takes

I’m thoroughly captivated by the Psycop series, and this latest installment didn’t disappoint. I anticipated a complicated plot, as always, but the climax surpassed the usual vivid descriptions, even in a very complex situation. I admire how JCP manages these intricate storylines and depicts otherworldly settings. I’m not sure I would have the patience to grasp her intricate imagery if I didn’t care so much for Victor and Jacob. It feels almost like a duty to challenge my mind for their sake. Though I usually don't prefer romantic novels, I find it comforting to listen to Gomez Pugh narrate the story of Vic and Jacob’s strong, "solid," loving relationship and their adventures together. Despite the circumstances, it’s full of clever wit and humor. I’ve listened to this twice and intend to listen again once I wrap my head around what happened with their subtle bodies. JCP has truly created magic with Victor and Jacob. I’ve listened to all 15 books multiple times, and Gomez Pugh’s performance is exemplary.

This was so much fun, so very many unexpected things happening. And the supporting characters, holy cow, I loved them! I hope we see the new medium in future. He was a lot of fun. Highly recommended.

Another Good Installment

I love the PsyCop series, so I was excited for a new book. This one wasn’t one of my favorites, although it is a good story. I just prefer the books that are more Jacob/Vic relationship focused, as they’re a great couple. Although they shared a lot of page time in this one, I don’t feel like there was as much connection as I expect. But it was still go to be back in the series again. Gomez Pugh did a solid job with the narration. If you like PsyCop, you’ll like this one.
