Everyone deserves a happily ever after, that's why Jenna Murphy is fiercely proud of her romance-only bookstore, BookLove. With her pets by her side, she’s content in her neat life, convinced that one day she'll find her person. Jenna helps Grandma with her groceries, runs the library’s used book sale, and hands out water to the runners in the local 5K race. What's not to love?

Sawyer Hall, a sharp-witted book blogger, has gained a reputation for her brutally honest takes. Fresh from a messy breakup, her posts have grown...snarkier than usual, and when she stumbles into Jenna's charming bookstore filled with “sappy fluff,” she doesn’t exactly hold back.

Sawyer's suggestion that romance novels peddle unattainable dreams to the sad and lonely makes Jenna absolutely livid. But fate has a twisted sense of humor because a new neighbor is moving into the other half of Jenna’s duplex and it's Sawyer Hall, because, of course it is. And Sawyer is gorgeous. And funny. And sort of makes Jenna swoon. So annoying.

A witty, heartwarming enemies to lovers romance about falling for the girl next door that proves the best stories are the ones with endings we never see coming.

This book was an absolute standout for me—easily one of the best I’ve read lately. From start to finish, it delivered such a satisfying, heartfelt experience without relying on heavy drama or unnecessary tension. I really appreciated the low-angst storytelling; it allowed the characters and their connection to shine in a way that felt genuine, comforting, and deeply engaging.

The story itself was beautifully written, with a strong emotional core centered around love, growth, and connection. It pulled me in right away and kept me invested the entire time. There’s something special about a book that can be both compelling and calming at the same time, and this one struck that balance perfectly.

I also have to highlight the incredible narration by Lori Prince. She brought the characters to life in such a natural and captivating way, adding depth and emotion that elevated the entire experience. Her performance made it even harder to put down and truly enhanced an already amazing story.

Overall, this was a fantastic read (and listen), and one I’ll definitely be recommending. If you’re looking for a beautifully told love story with low angst and top-tier narration, this one is absolutely worth your time.
