Publisher's Summary

It’s been over a year since Cassidy Miller retired from the United States Marine Corps, but try telling that to her nightmares. She knew that coming back after eight years in a war zone wouldn’t be easy, but she’d underestimated the real difficulties of transitioning back to civilian life. War is hell, but the aftermath is endless.

Looking for a fresh start, she’s left her friends and career in Minneapolis to be a police officer in northern Minnesota. It’s in the tiny town of Embarrass where she learns more about Julia Desjardin. The city prosecutor is cool, professional, and untouchable. But she and Cassidy have history, and Cassidy isn’t going to let her easily forget that.

For all their surface differences, Cassidy and Julia have more in common than they first realized - both are reluctant to hand over their pasts to be judged and studied. But it might take someone just as damaged as the other to help each cope with the skeletons in their respective closets.

I love the books but the narration...

Lori Prince has always been hit or miss for me. I didn't particularly enjoy this narration as I felt it was read too loud and forceful. It just didn't feel nice on my ears. The series is a great one so I guess I'll just stick reading them.

The story is good. The reading however was confusing. I felt like every sentence was a question. It took a while to get used to the inflections and tones of the performer (reader).

I REALLY wanted to like this book

At the start I did not have high hopes for this book. It started out cheesy and very predictable. Lori Prince is one of my favorite narrators, but she was not on point with this book. All of the elements were there for a great story, but it fell really short for me. I’m giving the author another chance, because I see that there is ability and talent!

One exception! The sex AND connection WAS AMAZING! Another reason I’m giving the author another chance! 😏

Stellar

The combination of Eliza Lentzski and Lori Prince is powerful. Both are favorite author and narrator.

The story has already been known by many and it has received good reviews all these while. But with the addition of Lori Prince to throw voices for these amazing characters...I really don’t know why any Eliza Lentzski fans miss this?

I love the way Julia’s voice was being projected by Lori Prince. It feels so good to be able to hear them.

Don't Call Me Hero

The voice of the reader is very irritating hard to get through this book. I will look more into who the narrator is next time.

Awesome

Lori Prince has gone from average to one of the premier narrators or lesbian fiction.
Eliza could have easily made this highly melodramatic, but she didn’t, and kept it perfect. Painful, funny, romantic and sexy. Well done, Eliza. Well done.

Incredible

This is my first book from this author but I loved every minute of it. There is so much to this story that it is hard to summarize. Lori Prince, as always, did a great job on the narration. Treat yourself and don't pass this one up

On to the next

I couldn’t wait to celebrate continue onto the next one! So glad I discovered this series when both books were out! And Lori Prince was a GREAT choice for a narrator! She can be serious, sad and crying one minute; and happy and funny the next! I LOVE this narrator, she knows how describe every emotion. I practically have all her narrated books! She just makes the book better. She needs to continue on this series!!

Couldn't Stop Listrning

At last Don't Call Me Hero is finally on Audible. I really hope that the 2 further booksvin this will also be put on Audible.

At first I couldn't get on with the narrator but I listened to the book all night.

I loved all the characters especially Cassidy, ex-marine, and Julia, District Attorney. Both run in different circles but one thing brings them both together. No spoilers.

Great story and brilliant narration

At first I was hesitant about listening due to the odd poor review. I’m so glad I bought it anyway as the story didn’t disappoint. Lori Prince brings life into the narration and I highly recommend following on with the sequel. Now only if a producer would option it and make it into a movie.

Nope - don’t do it

It’s a clever plot idea but it’s clear the writer doesn’t understand military service. The rhythm is uneven, excruciatingly slow and then jumps ahead. The main problem is that I couldn’t relate to the motivation and action of the characters. They weren’t consistent, seeming to morph into different people.

Worth a listen

This is the first book by this author that I have listed to. I’d love to see where this storyline would continue. It had lots of twists and turns with some obvious outcomes but they didn’t wreck the story. It was a nice love story.
