The Lee Winter’s story + Chelsea Stephens’s narration that made me stop mid-chore!

I already loved ‘When She Flies,’ having read it twice before, but revisiting Jasmine and Sienna’s story in audio felt like a whole new experience. Lee Winter really knows how to craft sharp, compelling stories and remarkable characters, and hearing them come to life added another layer to a story I already adore!

This was my first time listening to Chelsea Stephens, and she COMPLETELY blew me away!! Her performance, especially as Jasmine Gemayel, was impeccable. Knowing Jasmine was inspired by Shohreh Aghdashloo (one of my queens 🙂‍↕️) made it even better! I could vividly picture her in every scene because of how Stephens delivered the role!!

What really stood out, though, was how much Stephens elevated the emotional moments. That major “face-off” between Jasmine and Sienna caught me off guard! I was literally in the middle of doing laundry and had to stop just to hold back tears! And the scene where Sienna talks with her mother about her father hit just as hard! Even after already knowing the story, I still wasn’t prepared for how deeply it would affect me in audio form…

Chelsea Stephens didn’t just narrate this story — she brought out every emotion in it. So it’s really such a treat to discover her through this, and her narration made me fall in love with this Lee Winter romance all over again! 🥹🫶

I did not like the voice choice Chelsea Stephens gave her second lead. It was too flat. Not sexy. But I did enjoy the story. I have been spoiled by Angela Dawe and Abby Craden. Ah well.

Spectacular

As always, another ice queen flawlessly delivered by Lee Winter that has been added to my reread list. I can’t get enough! 💜

Not what I expected

This author always exceeds my expectations. At first glance I thought ow this is another of those romances between an ice queen and a lowly intern. I was not wrong but as I listened and got further into the story I grew to appreciate the author’s plot with its twists and turns. The narration of this work was also exceptional. The narrator was able with the use of verbal accent changes to conjure up the protagonists in every detail of their character. All in all a great listen to an excellent book.
