Immersive world!

Reyr the Gold kept up the expertly crafted worldbuilding, pacing, and characterization Melissa started in Talon! The plot and multiple POVs kept me just as intrigued, and we got some new characters! I really enjoyed getting to see Claire settle into her new role while Talon worked out how to make up for his previous behavior.

This continuation has all the magic and combat training anyone who loves fantasy could want, plus that slow-burn romance really simmers-–talk about enemies-to-lovers!! This is one of those fantasy worlds I wish I could live inside. When the book is over, the vibes live rent-free. As soon as the last word was read, I hit play on Verath the Red!

Alex and Ariel continued their excellent narrating, and I hope they stay on to finish the remaining four books in the series!

I really wanted to like this book. the protagonist is a whiny brat and the man is a broody guy with no depth the whole book is 15ish hrs long and it took me probably over 30 just to listen to it because it couldn't hold my attention. and id have to go back and re-listen to what was said so many time because it was just Plain boring and my mind would wander. the narrator did an ok job for the female part but the male part was just bad and obviously a female trying to hard to be masculine.
