Sacrifice Mage

Ross Moreland dearly wishes to spice up his dull life as a PA with something actually exciting. Like magic. His wish comes true when he gets summoned to another world. Then he gets ritually sacrificed.

Luckily, the banished sun god rejects it, sending him back to life with a starlike core, one that gathers a ton of mana to explode into being. Ross can't use up the mana fast enough to prevent a fatal detonation with regular spells. What he can do is Sacrifice it all away, in return for incredible rewards. First, he just needs to join the very cult that tried to kill him.

Convincing them that a declining cult needs a cultist with a star core is the easy part. If Ross wants to get a handle on his mana core, he'll have to navigate through evil nobles, fanatical vampires, and a sunless city that despises the weak. Good thing that it's Ross's turn to play with Sacrifice.

Great if frustrating

While I did enjoy the story and progession the MC was frustrating at times.
Like he has the power to sacrifice things for "boons" basically but has to own it. So you'd think he do that to everything. Trash, debris , random magical stuff but he doesnt.
Worse is he buys magical monster parts to sacrifice but later when he adventures he leaves monster bodies laying around without sacrificing them after taking the parts he wants. Like whole big corpses he could sacrifice.
He also complains about gore and blood on him, while he cant sacrifice the blood of someone living as he doesnt own it. He should be able to for the dead of his foes. After all if he can sacrifice say an arm of a monster once its dead, that has blood in it. So he should be able to sacrifice all the gore covering him after the battle.

It's just wasteful he doesnt sacrifice all the stuff he can when the only way to level it is to use it.

Interesting magic system

Interesting story, I would have like the magic system better explain (could be plot points). Narrator is a bit nasal but not bad. Pacing is a bit rushed will try the next book.

MC can't understand natives but they used some weird voice thing so you can't make out anything but it very grating very quick

A great magic system, unique setting and great story telling

After the set up, the story and progression system really helps you dig into the world. I can honestly say I can't wait for the next book. The magic system itself is really open ended and invites you to think about it yourself and wonder what else is possible. again can't wait for more.
