Five sisters. One entail. A legacy worth fighting for.

Mr. Thomas Bennet's untimely death brings not only grief to Longbourn—but, with it, the weight of uncertainty. The estate, entailed away from the female line, now faces a legal challenge from Mr. Collins, a cousin as odious as he is ambitious. But Longbourn has never been a house of ordinary women. With the quiet strength of their grandfather's guidance, the five Bennet sisters step forward—not as ornaments of society, but as defenders of their legacy.

Elizabeth confronts the peril head-on, navigating estate management and Regency law with unexpected allies, including the formidable Mr. Darcy. Their growing connection simmers beneath the surface as legal battles, social judgment, and personal pride threaten to keep them apart. He is the last man she thought she could love—until he becomes the one man she cannot ignore.

Jane, long admired for her beauty and composure, discovers a resilience even she did not know she possessed, especially when affection proves more complex than it first appeared. Mary, often overlooked, finds her voice in agricultural innovation and scientific study. Kitty, quiet and cautious, surprises them all with her clarity and instinct. Lydia, bold and impulsive, proves herself a steward of land and livestock, her talents emerging in the most unexpected places.

As Mr. Collins stoops to sabotage and subterfuge, the sisters must outwit not only him but the weight of tradition itself. With Mr. Darcy's intentions increasingly entangled with Elizabeth's, and the support of unlikely allies, the fate of Longbourn—and their futures—hangs in the balance.

In this rich, romantic reimagining of Pride and Prejudice , sisterhood and strategy take center stage as five young women challenge the expectations of their world—and claim their rightful place within it.

The fact that all the Bennet females had a happily ever after despite the loss of both Father and Grandfather Bennet. The narrator didn't have exceptional differences between voices, but she did very well and brought this wonderful story to life.

Not Only Good For Elizabeth

I thoroughly enjoyed this variation. It was 20 hours long, but it didn’t feel like it. I listen to a lot of variations and rarely rate higher than a three, but this one was totally original.

I loved this P&P variation!

Totally enjoyed the book and the original storyline. Highly recommend but is a bit long.

Very original !

This author, in my opinion, writes very interesting variations not quite along usual lines. Her stories incorporate (what seems like) authentic details of Regency Life, specifically those details that impact females — like the Bennet sisters. This story gives each of the sisters her own special talent - and together they work to thwart Mr Collin’s machinations. Not a light-weight P&P Variation. Those who prefer their JAFF more flighty, fast and / or melodramatic may not like this story. It is long and full of the details to make the situation at Longbourn appear realistic. I liked Mr Bennet, the grandfather. Mrs Bennet was NOT as normally portrayed which was a pleasant change. The other usual characters are here, but the sisters do not necessarily end up with who they did in the original story. I had not listened to this reader before, but I thought her narration was very good.

Long, Very Detailed Variation I Enjoyed

I enjoyed this audiobook. The plot was interesting and varied enough from other stories as to make it memorable. There are truly times where you want to pummel Collins. I also thoroughly liked the character of Grandfather Bennet. I also enjoyed the length as it didn't feel too drawn out. The narrator was good, though Mary sounded positively man-ish at times.
However, I have a few complaints. The first is the constant unnecessary and "cutesy" admonishments so frequently delivered by one or more parties simply for the sake of putting others off of a topic. It grows more and more irritating after 20 hours, especially as it happens more often as you near the finish. Secondly, we don't know anything about the later outcome of Lady Catherine, which is odd. Lastly, and I know this is not a popular opinion amongst JAFF readers, I dislike the oh-so-convenient tying up all five daughter's relationships/marriages along with Mrs. Bennet. It felt very much like stuffing too much in a small box and calling it good.

Very good, but there were a couple issues for me
