Matteo’s been running scared for so long he’s forgotten what it’s like to feel safe. Or maybe he never knew in the first place. Raised by a cruel man, tormented by an even crueler one, and recently rescued by a demon, Matty’s still jumping at shadows around every corner. When he sees a familiar face from the past and realizes his ghosts really have come back to haunt him, Matty does the only reasonable thing he can think of.
He summons someone even worse.
Nightmare is a solitary demon by nature. He’s never needed a companion or a lover or a friend, and he’s never minded being feared by others of his kind. But one taste of Matteo’s sweet, terrified soul and Nightmare needs more. When he’s finally summoned to Matteo’s side, Nightmare finds himself exactly where he wants to be. Now it’s only a matter of patience, seduction, and convincing his little human that one contract isn’t enough.
What they really need is an eternity.
Unleashing Mayhem is a heated MM paranormal romance with a HEA and no cliffhanger. It contains a sweet human afraid of everyone but the monster at his side, a demon so possessive even other demons run scared, a found family made of mobsters and monsters, and a summoning gone right (for once). While each book focuses on a different couple, the series is best enjoyed in order.

I loved getting to see so many of the previous couples in this one, and everyone working together to help Matty.
Michael, as always, is an excellent narrator. I loved his voice for Nightmare, I don't think I hear this character voice from him very often if ever.
If you're a fan of hurt/comfort, possessive mates, scary demon/sweet and soft human pairing, and overall demonic shenanigans, then you will love this book. I have really enjoyed the whole series and if this is the last one?? (not sure if it is or not) then it really went out on the highest note for me.
My favorite book in the series!!

I loved seeing Matty’s personality come through underneath all the fear and trauma he has experienced. Who knew that was all that snark and a little brattiness under all that fear? I loved how Nightmare brought the real him out and also uncovered that Matty is a little bit of a s*x demon, at least he is with his Scary!
Nightmare feeds on fear, feeds on bad dreams, to the point where he has driven some people mad. Nightmare is what people fear, but for Matteo Nightmare has always been his protector inside and outside of his dreams. He even saved Matty from the monsters in his dreams before he summoned Nightmare.
I am such a sucker for nicknames and I absolutely loved Matty and Nightmare’s nicknames for each other; Sweet and Scary. Every Sweet and Scary just made me completely melt and swoon simultaneously.
As always, Michael Ferraiuolo did an amazing job with the narration! I was so curious about what Nightmare’s character would be like and I think he nailed it. He brought to like the duality of sounding both creepy but yet so soft and sweet with Matty. I am so sad for this series to come to an end!

Thankfully I needn't have worried. Matty has layers. He may come off as a timid man, but inside he's hiding a fire that Nightmare has no problem coaxing out. Demons have never hurt Matty like humans have. All they have ever done is protect him, and so he trusts Nightmare to do the same. I don't think Matty expected a mating was going to be the climax of him summoning said demon, but he certainly isn't unhappy it worked out that way.

I loved seeing how Nightmare was with Matty. It was completely different from how he treated anyone else. He was so protective and caring. He made Matty feel safe for the first time in a long time. It was also funny to see how weary all the other demons were around him, even when Matty was present. Kai even tried protecting Matty at first, which was sweet. Funnily enough, Matty was the one to put Kai in his place when it came to his bond with Nightmare. Matty may have had a problem sticking up for himself in the past, but he had no issue telling anyone off who spoke badly of his demon.

I have loved every book in this series and am bummed it has come to an end. I am looking forward to see where Bryan takes us next with their writing. And though I'll miss these demons and their mates, history has shown me that Bryan will give us another bunch of paranormals to fall in love with soon.
As for the audio, the narrator did a great job in my opinion. I enjoyed the raspy voice he chose for Nightmare. It fit him well. As did Mattys. I could even go so far as to say I enjoyed this even more brought to life!

Unleashing Mayhem is the fourth book of the Demon Bound series. It is a hurt/comfort book featuring the demon Sarkaron, nicknamed Nightmare or Night for his appearance in people’s nightmares, and Matty, a lonely human plagued by the fear of people from his past finding him.
Matty and Nightmare are the perfect match—a man full of fear and nightmares and a demon who feeds on fear and saves him in those nightmares. Nightmare terrifies everyone else (and even has the other demons leery of him), but he comforts Matty because Matty knows what a real monster is thanks to his stepfather and his men. Nightmare becomes Matty’s protector against these monsters.
I love their relationship. It is so sweet and respectful, and Nightmare doesn’t treat Matty like he’s lesser or fragile because of his fears and his abusive past. I wasn’t sure what to expect in a book about a nightmare demon, but this absolutely exceeded my expectations. The sweet connection that Matty forms with Nightmare, the possessiveness that they both feel, and the chemistry that steams between them combine to create a pretty amazing read. We get to see lots of the other couples from the rest of the Demons series as well, which I loved.
I truly loved this book, and I think you will, too.
