Book 1 of The Annals of the Draconians starts off centuries after the beasts of power gained consciousness. They have formed a pact to maintain a fragile balance in the galaxy, which the dark beasts relentlessly seek to destroy in their boredom. In a galaxy, leaps and bounds ahead in scientific advancements and rich with magic, they have finally reached a turning point where their decades of brooding and scheming may finally shift the balance in their favor. They may finally get the chance to kill the one who denied them and his puppets. While their magically infused Drakions and Temporians battle each other, the beasts of power try to outwit and outmaneuver each other at every turn.

I definitely thought this book was different and unique. It starts off a bit strange and there is a lot of forced sex at the beginning of this story. I didn't really didn't understand the plot of the story until chapter 20 when things from the beginning started to make more sense. I thought it was a little strange that this is an erotica romance but the words to describe the scenes were not as graphic as I personally would have liked. I did love the narrator,I thought she did a wonderful job. Overall the book was good and if you like high fantasy stories with a mix of sci-fi and erotica romance throughout then I would definitely recommend.

This has lots of world building and multilayered war, in which it does have dark themes involved. Heavy on sci-fi/fantasy on this one and it gave me Star Wars meets dragons vibes. I do feel that it was a bit slow paced, but also feel that this one is setting the tone and setting for the next book which isn’t unusual for a high fantasy series. There are also mentions of politics throughout this one as well. Unfortunately, I haven’t built a good connection with these characters yet but do plan to continue on to see if it has to do with the heavy world building. Narration was good for single narration.

Strong world building
