The Ferguson Clan has a problem. A couple thousand years ago, one of their ancestors uttered a curse with complete sincerity. In that curse, a woman named Srine offered all of herself for retribution on the world that had tortured her. The curse was so sincere that it echoed into places distant. In the darkness of the universe, something even darker than her words accepted her offer. Despite her being too old, and her husband incapable of siring a child, she became pregnant. This child was filled with dark potential. Unchecked, he could destroy the world. Join the fight!

THE MAN NAMED DESTRUCTION is a thriller, with its roots in science fiction and horror, spanning thousands of years. It follows Srine’s descendants as they struggle to destroy a creature that was born into their lineage.

The story unfolds across vast spans of time and diverse locations with rich characters and catastrophic clashes with this creature. The Earth’s history forms the arena of this war. Thousands of years ago, a cataclysmic event ended the battle between the forces marshaled by the family and those controlled by the creature. The event led to the annihilation of both armies. The descendants of surviving members of the family, who were held back in reserve in the great battle, have lived a secluded existence. They hide from the creature they know still hunts them. Haunting dreams warn them that danger from the creature persists. Even though no one has laid eyes on the creature since the great battle. The family senses the creature is still out there, somewhere. Over the millennia, the family created an archive to chronicle the creature's suspected movements and actions in hopes of understanding it, so they can destroy it. An epic battle approaches, and their bloodline is the last defense against the creature's global ambitions. This story unfolds across our reality, interwoven with historical events.

The story a lot of fun. I hope you Join the Fight, and check it out.

The book is well written and the author does a great job at building suspense. The creation of the villain is similar to the level of detail you see coming from the Silmarillion, with the detail and care taken into establishing the origins of the creature resulting in this villain which is a good mix of a lovecraftian horror with, again to bring reference to George R.R. Martin, Sauron. The title character is scary and evil, there is no question, and the research to tie him into true historical events and catastrophes showed a lot of research on the authors part where some of the sections read more like a alternate history book (not to mention the many modern day landmarks referenced throughout). If you are a fan of books based in modern day, ancient history, or anything in between this book is a great option. All of the characters, especially the monster and 3 protagonist as well as the different deuteragonist found throughout the books different sections.

The narration of the book is done near perfectly. Every character is given a distinctive and culturally appropriate (at least for the modern day) accent. The narrators speaking voice, which is almost like a young British butler, is calm despite describing the horror of the creature and serves to truly build this books suspense. The effort of the narrator to ensure the book is at the best quality possible is clear, this was not a one time read through. The narrator took his time to build these characters and to release something that you can truly just close your eyes and immerse yourself (though you may not want to do that with certain parts).

If you are looking for a book with a great villain, this is the one for you. The most important part of this book is it is long. This could have easily been one or even two more books but the author decided to release it as one complete story. And, most importantly, this book is an origin story. I truly look forward to seeing what happens next.

Great Story with the perfect Narrator
