Forrest plays all the book boyfriend parts perfectly. So perfectly, I'm starting to wonder if his feelings for me might be real, or if he's just earning his paycheck. I'm not sure if I'm trying to write a love story or live one out.

After all, there is no such thing as happily ever after with a professional escort… right?

Life got in the way and I wasn’t able to read this until after release day but, blessing in disguise, because I got to listen to the audiobook as I read along! Omg, you outdid yourself with this one Kay. The emotions I felt reading through Sora’s journey as an author and the complicated relationship she had with her father. I cried everytime she encountered a hurdle or hurtful word. Forrest is just perfection, dealing with his own journey as well but bravely sacrificing a “normal” life by society’s definition for the sake of making sure his family is taken care of. I loved reading his protectiveness of Sora, doing anything to make her smile or feel hopeful for her future as an author. Truly just such a good book, I definitely recommend picking this one up!!

LOVED this book!

I had read some of Kay Coves Books in the camera shy series and so I figured this would be along the lines of those, which I liked as well. But this book, I don’t know if it was the characters, the story line, the plot, the development or what…but I LOVED this book so much. It is now my absolute favorite!

I just LOVE a great good old love story!!! This story was lovely. A nice break from the typical dark romance that I would typically read.

The Romance Author and the Escort

Kasi Hollowell and Caden Hart did a wonderful job narrating this story.

Sora is a romance author, struggling in an indie publishing world. She finally gets a meeting with the top agent in the city, only to be disappointed in the reason he has taken the meeting. But that same day, in the same coffee shop, she meets Forrest with his four-year-old daughter Dakota.

Forrest has a law degree, but due to an inadvisable agreement he made when he was in law school, he's never take the bar exam. Due to the agreement he defaulted on, he has a lot of debt and so he took a job that could pay the bills - but it might be a little not quite legal through and through.

He takes on Sora as a 'client', and while she wants out of that deal, he talks her into allowing him to show her all the romantic tropes and hopefully help her through her current writer's block.

But... he's enamoured. Now he has to figure out how to navigate the complexities of dealing with his ex, being the best parent he can be, finding a way to get out of the mess his life is in, make amends with his dad in Wyoming, and falling in love with the woman who makes him want to change everything about his life.

This is definitely a unique story. Nearly unputdownable, I read it in less than a day.
