THE STORY

impressive

a bunch of small story's of repeating charcters. Eventually story's begin to connect into large conspiracy.

Loved this book!

Feels like three intertwined stories that come together with some epic twists under a strong performance. Highly recommended if you are a fan of Warhammer Fantasy - especially the Empire faction.

Pretty good, but could have been better.

I have the feeling that this book could have been much better if only one of the fellows who wrote it wrote it as a full novel instead of a bunch of interconnected stories. By the end, the stories connect and come to a head very nicely, but there was some stuff at the end that felt pretty silly. Specifically, as another reviewer noted, the out of nowhere love story. I mean, i had to pause and go back a few minutes at its "reveal" at just before the climatic battle to see if i missed something. It felt so forced, and like it was a last minute addition. Also, in the very beginning the nature of the stories all being disconnected is really felt.

That said, a bunch of stories that seem loose at first connecting into a greater narrative was cool. Spooner does a fantastic job as with everything he touches warhammer, i really have no notes for him. Overall it was fun, but i cannot say i wasnt a little dissapointed by some aspects of the ending.

Spooner stands out yet again

Andrew is a phenomenal narrator, never half asses his performances, amazing range. He is always a joy to listen.

Great except for the last minute love triang

This book is everything you could ask for in a warhammer book, just don''t expect everything to make sense. Also, I suspect the narrator does a lot to alleviate the less than perfect writing.

I was slightly annoyed at the last minute love triangle (even rectangle) which comes after way too little relationship development and ends ambiguously enough to make you wonder why they put it in there in the first place.
