When investigative journalist Hana Sinclair uncovers a cryptic reference to an ancient botanical manuscript left to by her late grandfather, she unravels a thread tied to Hildegard von Bingen, a 12th-century abbess, healer, and mystic. Her findings reveal that Hildegard’s work holds more than historical value—it may conceal the key to curing some of humanity’s most devastating diseases. But someone is determined to ensure her secrets stay buried.

As Hana teams up with Father Michael Dominic, prefect of the Vatican Secret Archives, and Marcus Russo, a Vatican archaeologist, they discover that a powerful biotech corporation, Zentara, has been systematically suppressing cancer cures for profit. Zentara’s reach is vast, its operatives ruthless, and its agenda clear: control the narrative of medical progress at any cost.

The team races to uncover and protect Hildegard’s work, their journey taking them from Geneva to Rupertsberg Abbey, where Hildegard lived and worked, to Zentara’s high-tech laboratories. Along the way, they face betrayal, danger, and the weight of their own convictions. For Hana, the fight becomes deeply personal, challenging her notions of justice and the role of science in society.

But when Zentara accelerates its plans and begins human trials with catastrophic consequences, the stakes grow even higher. Can the team expose the corporation’s crimes, safeguard Hildegard’s legacy, and ensure her healing vision is not lost to history?

A gripping tale of courage, faith, and the pursuit of truth, The Hildegard Seeds explores the timeless struggle between greed and the greater good, weaving historical intrigue with modern-day suspense in a story that will resonate long after the final tick.

I love all of Father Micheal and Hannah books and their friends. Great series! Thanks!

Micheal’s decision.

Such a great book, I love how the author blends historical facts with fiction. Many times after listening to Gary McAvoy’s books I wish history had gone this way, but never say never. Highly recommend this book and all of Gary McAvoy’s books.

Fascinating

As his other books Gary McAvoy didn’t disappoint! Full of intrigue, adventure, and combined with the human elements both good and bad. Can’t wait to start the next one!

Another sit on the edge of your seat story!

Love the history based but a wonderful creative writing. Would be great to see more returning characters but the story is intriguing

Love it!!

I have listened to all the series but Michael and Hanna seemed very naive in this one, making all kinds of dumb mistakes. It lacked something.

Good plot

I know this is fiction and I do enjoy fiction. The base of the story is generally ok, but the other things could have been written more realistic to make it more appealing. Do we really believe that a company that pulls off a global conspiracy, has spies everywhere would allow somebody to just come into one of their facilities and just download data to a flash drive?! And with so many evidences Dominic and Hannah had, why not involve the authorities? No, just one priest and a journalist take on paid mercenaries on their own. I guess what I am saying is that, if some details have been written more realistic and with common sense, it would made the story better.

Narration is solid, and I do like that the same narrator is used in the whole series. But I just hate when the narrator makes this hideous accents of french speaking people. Totally unnecessary and poorly executed. And no other language group has any accents.

Story ok, but unrealistic
