Loved it!

WOW, the narrators were phenomenal! I absolutely loved the tension, banter & off the charts chemistry between Luke & Melanie.

Fantastic second chance romance!

The sparks are flying in Whispers and Wildfire, book four in the Haven Brothers series and oh my gosh, this second chance romance story definitely didn’t disappoint! Luke has been a bit of a mystery since we met him back in the Bailey Brothers series and I was so excited to finally have his story! He and Melanie had something special years earlier but they were young and mistakes and misunderstandings broke their bond, but now Melanie is back in Tilikum and it seems the one person who hurt her in New York years earlier has found her again and brought danger and havoc to the small town. One of the best parts of this small town romance is how all the towns people come together when one of their own is in danger.
I easily fell for both Luke and Melanie and thoroughly enjoyed their journey even with all its ups and downs they proved that true love can prevail!
I also had the added benefit of listening to the audio version of this story and the narrators did an amazing job that absolutely added to my enjoyment of this book!

This is my new favorite of the series! I loved the characters, I loved the story, and the narration was top tier. I loved that there was a separate narrator for the bad guy too! I couldn’t put this down and can’t wait for the next book in the series!

Luke is my favorite Haven!!!

Erin Mallon has always been a favorite female narrator for me and she solidified that with her role as Melanie! She has the knack for conveying the quick wit a FMC will have and Melanie is very quick witted. Ms. Mallon also has the skill of a good male voice. When I see her listed as a narrator I always know both the FMC and MMC are in good hands.

Marcio Catalano is new to me and I was immediately loving his voice. He delivers Luke exactly as I would have imagined while reading it. He does an amazing job of changing his voice depending on what character is talking and he was great when it came to the female parts. I seriously couldn’t get enough.

Lastly, Robert Hatchet. I have only ever heard him in a more comedic type role. Let me just say that him as a bad guy….I was there for all of it and wanting more of it. I knew it was him but had I not known I would have been looking it up because he does sound slightly different in a good way. Bravo on pulling off the bad guy as well as you did!!!


Remember some years back when we had a strong dislike for Luke Haven because he hit on Fiona and tried to buy a car out from under Evan Bailey? I am here to say we should no longer have a dislike for him…we should LOVE him!

Second chance is a favorite trope and I loved everything about Luke and Melanie finding their way back to each other. From their first encounter that will leave you giggling to him being so fiercely protective of her. He is more calm and collective while she is slightly high energy. They still have a strong connection after being apart for 11 years.
Then there are the tender moments between them and the loving way that Luke reassures her of his love and vice versa. Melanie has a strength to her that Luke respects and he always has her back!

I feel like I always say the same things when it comes to a Claire book but dang it, it’s always true. She has this way of making you feel like you are wrapped up in a flannel of comfort when reading these Haven boys. They are so much more than what we got glimpses of in the Bailey Brothers series. Luke and Melanie’s story is sure to leave everyone with a heart full of love!

Romantic Suspense

Melanie and Luke have a second-chance romance in this suspenseful plot. Some chapters dedicated to her stalker provide insight into his crazy thoughts. Melanie grew on me after getting into the story. She was a lot, and she was aware of insecurity. There were some parts I felt Melanie and Luke could've worked on in their communication to resolve simple problems, but overall, it was a solid read.

Small town charm with thrilling suspense!

Whispers and Wildfire mixes small town charm, sweet second chance romance and thrilling suspense. Luke and Melanie captured my heart from the start. I loved watching these two rekindle their relationship, they start off as enemies but the more time the spend together they can’t fight their pull towards each other. Claire delivers another heart pounding suspense that you won’t want to put down.

Erin Mallon, Marcio Catalano and Robert Hatchet perform this book in dual narration. Erin is the perfect to bring to life Melanie’s fun, sweet and caring personality while also being able to showcase her vulnerable side. Marcio is new to me and does a great job of portraying Luke as a cinnamon roll and also his protective side. Robert gets to show off his sinister side as the villain of the story.

I love Luke and Melanie!

I think this is my favorite in the Haven Brother series so far! Luke and Melanie are absolutely on fire. I loved seeing Melaine with her family and the families together. Melanie's pickle obsession makes me giggle. But Luke's insistence to have them for her always makes me swoon. Luke's protectiveness makes me giddy and I absolutely adore them. Ugh I just adore them!

I loved the chapters from the perspective of our bad guy. It adds such a layer of intensity.

And as always being in Tilikum feels like coming home. I want to be part of the SPS!

Another super-fantastic, riveting, keep you on the edge of your seat, who-dun-it, happy ending love story by one of my favorite authors, Claire Kingsley.

Melanie is a thirty-something voice actress living in Seattle. She has just gone through a divorce with her cheating, early mid-life crisis suffering ex-husband. She is struggling to pack up what's left of her life from their house and move back to her hometown of Tilikum.

Luke Haven is one of the too hot for his own good Haven brothers. He owns a successful custom auto shop, he has a great family. So why is he so restless that he has to resort to something dangerous from his past to make himself feel something?

Things at work are super busy for Luke. Add in that his regular office manager is out on maternity leave and her replacement doesn't show up more often than not. He needs help! In a twist of fate, his former high-school girlfriend, Melanie, is back in town and needs a job. But can they tolerate each other?

With time, Luke starts to remember why he liked Melanie so much and Melanie's feelings start to return too.

Too bad there is someone waiting and watching in the wings to take what they've long thought was theirs.

I cannot recommend the audio of The audio of this story enough! The narrators are superb and having a third voice for the villain is such a great addition. It makes takes the audio to the next level.

I have read a lot of Claire Kingsley’s books but this one is my favorite! I love the story line, the suspense, and the ending!!
