The narrative's clarity allowed for immediate re-engagement

This is an exceptional apocalyptic/post-apocalyptic/dystopian novel; the pacing is excellent, and the slow burn narrative is masterfully executed. The cliffhanger ending leaves me eagerly anticipating the next installment. Furthermore, the narrative's clarity allowed for immediate re-engagement without the need for a reread.

5/5 stars but I’m not happy

This series is frustratingly good. I did take a small break in the middle because the slow burn/frenemies to lovers was taking WAY TOO LONG for me. I had a different theory for the last few chapters so when it went opposite to what I was expecting I will say I was surprised and intrigued. Overall it’s a great series and I can’t wait for book 3!

Book two was a rollercoaster of emotions! I cannot get this series out of my head! It is so underrated and deserves all the stars! I need book 3 like now! Takeshi is my new favorite MMC!

Amazing book

This book will stick with me. This series was really haunting. I love the characters. I love the relationships between everyone and their journey. It was just what I needed after reading so many romantasys lately. Thrilling. Fast paced.

God I love a slow burn, the tension is tensioning. The best thing about this book is all the relationships between all the characters. It just feels organic and real.
Such a fun progression in the story. The plot and writing have been so much fun. I’m genuinely surprised this book hasn’t blown up yet.
