Duel axe, flame weilding corruption cleanser.

Mc having reincarnated after fighting a fire is thrust into an empire on its last days. With corruption incursions appearing all over this realm and an empire besiged by corruption both within and without the mc has to pass through a gauntlet of political intrigues and attempted assassinations. In the process he gains a better understanding of his power that seems able to cleanse the corruption that seems might place the mc's new world into an apocalypse.

It was good.

I enjoyed this audiobook. It comes off as a good first novel. If the author continues to improve their craft I will look forward to their future works. That said, it was good but not great. For me the inner turmoil was a bit ham-fisted and could have used a bit more nuance and subtlety. The narration was adequate but I felt like the narrator, while skilled, was not always a great match for the material.

All in all it was definitely worth the credit, but there’s room for improvement.

Great start to a promising series

This is an interesting isekai litrpg from a firefighters perspective. Consistent progression and a plot with plenty of twists and turns.

Gripping Character Development

I’ve had a hard time stopping to get a bite to eat once I started listening to this book! There is so much depth to the world created in this book and I’m always on my toes to find out what’s going to happen next. I’ve enjoyed the quippy chapter titles and am excited to see who Tilly becomes. I would highly recommend this read!

Good vs Evil

This book is big on morality, personal interspection and self pity. Some people will love all the moral questioning and what is right or wrong. Battle with desires and fear, hate and all that.

For me it just was annoying like a first year philosophy student prattling on and on. So not really for me. Had to skip parts that got way to into it. The story itself was fine enough.

The narrator can't do female voices and often sounded like a deep man voice for them. Lucky their are few females.

A story a fire and pain

This is a story of fire and pain redemption, but questioning the. Redemption and seeing what is truly selflessness, and what is this person's reasons for doing what he does? It's also about what happens during the fall of a rome like city

Has promise

A solid book. The world isn’t quite what I was expecting it to be and seems like a lot of different story plots were shoved together. Just my opinion though, otherwise a good listen.

Interesting world with potential

Refreshing to have a fire fighter perspective. A fun litRPG style book with an interesting world. You can see the author developing themselves as the book goes on and it has a lot of potential. Excited to get more of this story.

Intriguing and Exciting

Chapter after chapter piqued my curiosity, in anticipation of what was next. Everyone loves a hero’s journey!
When does book 2 come out?

Entertaining and enthralling

I downloaded this book the day it came out finished it in about a week. Normally it would have taken me longer but I found myself picking it up whenever I could. This was different than the kind of thing I would have normally picked up, but it kept my interest to see how things would progress and what was going to happen to the characters and in the world. I’m looking forward to the next installment.
