All me and Gourry wanted was a peaceful little road trip, but we can’t take one step without wannabe heroes showing up to “vanquish” us! You’d think there was a bounty on our heads or—Wait, there IS?! Ah, crap. Better head to Sairaag to get this whole mess sorted out! Sure hope it’s just a big misunderstanding and not some complex plot by an old enemy to lure us into a—Wait, WHO issued the bounty? Oh, boy...

I have no idea what goes into translating. Thumbs up to the translator. The story is cute. Dramatic, mixed with light and funny. Usually I like the narrative performed in an understated way, but she did good. Voicing some of the sound effects must’ve been difficult. The author note pointed out that there are things in the show that are not included in the books; so I might go watch it. Anything about it I would change? Authors of these kinds of stories have the habit of making sound effects first, (ie. gurgling screams as “Blugchough-ahh!” and uncomfortable hits to the conscience as “Oomph!”), which the narrator performs as convincingly as possible, only to give me context after the fact. Though this is a tactic to create suspense, my suspended disbelief would stand up better to a description of what is causing the sound, so my imagination can supply its own sound.

I like the characters.

With Lina’s Voice Actor doing narration on a story being told from Lina’s point of view it feels a bit like i met Lina Inverse in a bar and got her to tell her story. super fun to listen to that way ^ ^

perfect voice choice

Man I love The Slayers so much, this was a really fun read! If I hadn't watched the anime I wouldn't have guessed the plot twists. Also happy Lina's English va from the anime VA'd the past 3 books. I'm fangirling!

This was another great little episode that somehow stays light despite... well, you'll see. Anyway, as with the previous episodes, my only complaints are that this was way too short and way too far apart in release time from the previous episode. Fortunately, these stories are very episodic and the information we all probably forgot over time is filled in as the new story is told so don't worry - you can still enjoy this is even if you've pretty much forgotten what happened in the first two episodes.

Good, Short, and Campy
