I was stranded in a snowstorm with my ex's pro hockey player dad. Now, I'm pregnant.

After a nasty breakup with my ex, his dad takes pity on me and offers to drive me home.

But when a snowstorm strands us in the middle of nowhere, we're forced to find a roadside motel with nothing to do… but each other.

There's only one tiny bed... and he's huge.

We wake up the next morning tangled like pretzels. My face nuzzled in his chest. His rock-hard hockey stick poking between my legs.

He says he's too old for me and nothing can ever happen between us. I am his son's ex-girlfriend, after all.

But now, I have a secret that could change everything… I'm having his baby.

From the very beginning of this book, I was sucked in to the story. Ellie and Grey find themselves in a complicated relationship, and our narrators Logan Anare and Savannah Thomas expertly deliver the myriad of emotions the two of them deal with together and individually. Savannah Thomas brings a youthful energy of Ellie to her performance that shines showing that Ellie is a young adult and is just learning some of life's brutal lessons, especially in the romance and relationship department. She not only lets that shine in her performance but she also brings strength and emotion. Logan Anare, one of my favorite male narrators and a 1 click purchase any time his name is on a production, gives us a performance of versatility, authenticity, and deep emotion. I found myself laughing many times throughout the book, due to the witty banter and even the locker room talk from coach, which Anare delivered flawlessly. And the tears that were brought to my eyes with the depth of heartache that is woven throughout the story. I won't give it away, but it pulls at your heartstrings. After listening to this book, I immediately pre-ordered the 2nd one in the series. Leighton Grace is a new author for me, but one that I will be sure to listen to her audiobooks that come out. As Ellie would say, it was so dope!

LOVED this audiobook!!! It was so dope!

I understand that hockey romance is popular right now but, to all the authors and editors out there, please research the bare minimum of the sport before publishing. It’s embarrassing for you and insulting to the reader.

Besides that the story was cliche and easy to listen to. The narrators killed it.

Capitalizing on a trend. Poorly

I liked the story and idea behind it, but if you’re going to write about a sport, in this case hockey, you need to know the basics of the sport. For instance, there is NO halftime in hockey and there are NO quarters. Rolled my eyes when they mentioned the 4th quarter. I actually paused to look at the title to make sure this was a hockey romance. Could not give it more than 3 stars for this ridiculous error.

Story was good, but…

I don’t know why age gap has a taboo in our society. It’s in our DNA. I can remember having crushes on men in their 20’s and 30’ as a teenager. This age gap story is very engaging. It’s heartwarming. I’m so glad I read it.

I binged the story

Is it just me or did the male voice suddenly change? I feel like chapter 20 they got a new male narrator. He does not sound the same as the rest of the book. Also, what is with the cringe descriptive words in the first five minutes? I have loved the book, but for some reason, listening to the first five minutes of chapter 20 made me absolutely cringe. Other than that love the story. Loved the voices.

Chapter 20, WTH?!
