Hauntingly beautiful!

This isn't the first book of it's kind but it's the best that I've read in this trope! This book has so much depth, I love that K.A Knight really took the time to let us see what makes each character tick. This is my favorite book in this series and I loved all three! But Rebel is so raw and so emotional. I loved Beck's strength and determination to fight for the truth even while breaking her own heart. These men, Trav, Chase and Kolton were so special and I fell in love with them and all their broken pieces. What I loved the most was their unfailing love and support for Beck even when the truth was revealed. This is RH done right! Angst, rock and roll, passion and sooo much HEAT! Dead Ringers for life!

Favorite so far of the series!

I went right into book 2 after that crazy epilogue teaser the author threw at us at the end of Revolt! I highly recommend reading/listening to book 1 (Revolt) before this one just to get acclimated to the world, get the Easter Eggs from book 1, etc. I loved it so much more by listening to book 1 first.

I really enjoyed this one more than book 1. It felt more cohesive and I did not want it to end. I loved Beck more than I did Reign which I thought wouldn't be possible but the author was able to convince me. I don't want to give away spoilers but the secrets Beck is hiding is devastating and I can totally see why she does what she does. The things she has to go through, what she has done to get herself there, the things she has had to overcome, I want to give her a big hug and be her bestie. I would die to be in this friend group (esp with book 3 coming with Fallon after we got to meet her briefly in this one!). Beck is so feisty but a lot of it is just a face she knows she needs to put on. The way she has to learn to be an official singer, get to see this industry and have the guys help her out through it all. I was nervous how the book started but was happy to see the enemies to lovers get thrown out the weekend pretty quickly. Beck's way of seeing where a song should go, tweaking the guys previous songs or helping out with new ones. My mind was whirling and was so locked into this story.

The story has some tough topics so please be aware if you have TWs. The previous lead singer had something terrible happen to her and the book goes through the possibilities and figures out by the end what really happened. Beck gets hurt along the way, again won't spoil it, but I commend her strength and perseverance through it all. Again she is now one of my favorite MCs by this author, she may have come in a 1st place tie with Piper from her dystopian series haha (if you haven't read that yet, you are missing out!!). Let's talk about her guys for a hot second. These 3 have so much trauma and hard backgrounds, it makes sense how they heal each other and make each other better. Trav has a hard passed but he is proverbial love bug and falls so hard for Beck. We know a little about that from book 1 with him being the big crossover between the two. I want to snuggle this man so much. Colton is the one with a heck of a lot of childhood trauma and I was happy to see Beck do what she does in regards to his family. I loved her defending him and going as far as she did. Made me laugh when they broke her out and all the hugs and jailbird comments haha. The way Colt helped out bringing everyone back together made me want to spoil him so much. Chase is the prickliest of the bunch but falls the hardest out of all of them. His previous addiction makes reappearances and is always something he will have to choose not to indulge in and let the addiction win. He is the most volatile emotion wise but once he realizes his feelings and let himself love Beck, he is the strongest out of them all. Oh and the steam with him with the cooking utensil....didnt see what coming! I would have loved more of that kind of surprises hahaha.

The relationship building in this one felt right to me. I rooted for these guys the whole time and wish Beck would let them into her big secret. I am happy they eventually did and she left some crumbs for them at the end. I appreciated the baddies in this one and the one twist I didnt see coming. I called the one baddie for sure, that was easy to see and was happy when they got their just reward. Some other things that I loved in this one....the shopping and gifts for her, the tattoos and I really want to meet the tattoo guy and his girl in another book, not gonna lie! I want their story haha. She was adorable. The other side characters, meeting Fallon and Kage (book 3), the Sanctuary mention who is part of book 4. I love the little webs this author weaves and commend her for having all the details locked down because I am eating this series up! I hope these get more Special Editions because I need more on my shelf, not gonna lie. These don't get enough credit and mentions TBH. Also loved the cameos from Reign and her guys and Dal's funny one-liner hahaha.

Narration real quick was good. Because the accents weren't a thing for this one I thought it flowed way better because the narrators could handle everything well in the dual narration. Again I think all audiobooks for RH stories should be duet but I understand cost wise why that can't happen. There are only a couple female narrators who make me forget about a male narrator and this one isn't one of those. Again she did good but it would have been elevated if this was duet. The amount of emotion in this one, both narrators put their hearts and souls in this one. I felt the fear, the sadness, the anger, the frustration. I couldn't get enough of it. When Beck was talking about her loved ones, I totally got choked up. The recordings made me get teary eyed. The budding love and understanding with the guys and Beck made me feel it so hard in my chest, I didnt want to turn off the audio.

I can't talk up too much more about this book without spoiling it but daaaaaaang I love this group so much. Can't wait to see how book 3 goes and how many cameos we get!
