I'm twenty-six years old, and I want to die.

So when I wake up at the hospital with my brother weeping over me, I know my life is about to change. What I didn't expect was to get a nurse with cruel eyes and a morbid sense of humor that surpasses my own.

I'm even more surprised when I arrive at Harlow Sanctum and realize that my brother selected an unorthodox rehabilitation center that rooms people based on their treatment plan. And my roommate is none other than the man with cruel eyes I met the day prior.

I crave death—he craves life.

Can two people like us cure each other?

Intended for mature listeners.

The author really brought light to mental illness while telling such an amazing story. I couldn’t help but getting into this book and the storyline.

4.5 ⭐️ for both story and performance.

This story was an emotional roller coaster from start to finish, and had me fully engaged from the first page. It wasn’t quite as dark as I thought it was going to be, but that’s likely because my scale is somewhat askew- I tend to read pitch black books with disturbing content. So this was more mild for me in terms of how dark it was, but there were some deep, emotionally heavy themes.
I love the cast of characters, and the dynamics between all of them. The romance was intoxicating, and the spice was perfect.
I thought the narrator did an amazing job, and I’m looking forward to diving into follow up book!

This book. 😭😭😭😭😭
I cannot believe how much I like this book.
FMC, Wynn, 27, chapter 1: wakes up in a hospital after attempting to commit suicide. Her brother, James, is by her side & doesn’t understand why she wants to die. They meet nurse Hall (aka Liam), who doesn’t pity her & laughs at her morbid humor.
MMC, Liam, 29, lives at Harlow Institution for past 2 years, he cuts himself, self proclaimed masochist.

This book is about people who are sick, they’re traumatized, depressed, and hurt themselves. This book is about 3 main characters, Wynn, Liam & Lanston. It’s thier journey & how living for each other becomes their cure & how they help one another, open up over time & grow.

The trauma they have all independently & together survived is intense. Please read your trigger warnings.

I cried so hard. I’m still sad.

I’d say 3 stars for the writing, editing & etc.
The story: 5⭐️’s because it will live rent free in my head always
The 🌶️: 3.75

Lanston Nevers “The Fabric of our Souls is thin and worn. We must be gentle and love tirelessly.”

I first read this book in December 2023 and not a day has gone by that I haven’t thought of this book. There are really no words that can truly formulate and convey the emotions that this book dragged out of my black soul. I’ve never read something that so accurately highlights the depths and despair of mental health/illness. The audio is superb!

Hauntingly beautiful

Like the story line but it took a while to get to the meat and potatoes.
