Mortui vivos docent. The dead teach the living.
After watching my mother succumb to a mysterious illness, I promised myself two things. I'd find the cure for what ravaged her and leave the godforsaken city where she abandoned me.
Four years later, I received an acceptance letter from Dracadia University, one of the oldest most prestigious schools in the country. Nestled on a secluded island off the coast of Maine, it's rumored to be haunted by the souls of the mental patients exiled there centuries before, those whose bones are said to make up the island's white sandy shores.
And restless ghosts aren't even its most daunting peculiarity.
Devryck Bramwell, known on campus as Doctor Death, is a brilliant pathologist in charge of the midnight lab. He's also my devastatingly handsome professor, who seems to loathe tenacious first-years like me. Except his dark and enigmatic gaze tells me all the ways he'd devour me if given the chance, and his stolen kisses burn my lips with forbidden jealousy.
I crave his authority.
He aches for redemption.
Together, we're toxic. Delicious fodder for the prying eyes hellbent on exhuming the rotted skeletons of our pasts.
For the dead have much to teach, and it's only a matter of time before Dracadia's most depraved secret is resurrected.
Nocticadia is a standalone dark academia tale of deadly secrets and forbidden love.

If you were interested enough to skim the reviews- just buy it . So ,soooogood! Well written, unique original plot, awesome dual narration with male and female POV. NOT another stupid angsty college “young adult” smut party romance. This book is leagues above every other dark school romance ( with the possible exception of dark notes by Pam goodwen and misbehaved- both books are excellent choices to check out after this)The detail and realism, amazing world build, fresh creepy idea, amazing characters with distinct personalities…. This is a college secret society, corruption of the rich and powerful, plot twist, dark gothic horror forbidden student teacher romance. Special props to the author for writing a book with sinister secret societies…that you can actually believe! As crazy and out there as the plot is, I can absolutely imagine being right there! It comes across as very legit credible believable. If all that wasn’t enough…the sex…omfg….ummm new panties please… mine seem to have melted off! It starts a bit slow but man oh man does she deliver with the heat! Honestly Im pretty jaded at this point. It takes a lot to catch my interest let alone hold it to the exclusion of everything else. Ok at this point I’m just rambling. I have been awake all night and my brains a mess. Stop reading reviews and get the book. It’s more than worth it for those delicious sex scenes alone! Just be sure you can go somewhere you won’t be interrupted ( for the safety of your spouse or roommate- you will absolutely want, and potentially try, to kill them) make sure you have some good long lasting earbuds! Trust me you won’t want anyone overhearing 😏😉😉🫦! Last but not least, and trust me in this, don't forget to bring some extra underwear ! Buy the book and get ready for the inevitable panty monsoon that will soon be soaking your lingerie( crude, yes…tmi, probably….true? Oh ya😁😉👍🏻👍🏻)!
DAMN!- get the book, get it now!

This book is a bit gory (it's in the content warnings). It was a very intriguing mystery throughout. I'm not usually a fan of teacher/student but I felt like it was done really well in this case. First of all it's a college setting. Second it was not insta-love. This is a SLOW burn (So worth it though). I liked that the MMC showed actual hesitation. The FMC is intelligent and well written which sadly seems rare in romance. I liked the main characters and the plot was thick.
Overall great book
