I know I shouldn't do it. It's obviously a terrible, terrible idea. Still, I bide my time. I wait, and I wait, and finally, I pounce.

PLESENTLY SUPRISED

The book was surprisingly heartwarming. The relationship was so cute and steamy. Love the way I can always count on Jesse to give me an enjoyable story to devour.

The title and cover are totally misleading - I expected a fun cute schmexy book but this is soooo much more than that . The narrators are ROCKIN IT and the story has unexpected depth and romance . I really really really liked it !!

Lots of bad sleeping

So many nights not sleeping because they’re stressed. As someone who can’t get a good nights rest, i felt the dread and tiredness these characters were going through.

GASPING. PANTING. LAUGHING. CRYING. JUST WOW

I do not review books nearly as much as I should, and when I do, I try my very best to be fair across the board. This is a spoiler-free review. It's not only 5 stars across the board but across the damn walls, floors, windows, and every other crevice. I was so hooked, and for SO many reasons. First off, let me start by saying Ellis Evans' performance is off the CHARTS. This was my first time experiencing the wonder that is his voice acting, and I must say, it was perfection. The character, Jesse, was brought to life in ways that were literally effortless. That's the best part of his acting, it doesn't matter which part of the book you're in, the shock, sarcasm, anger, sappy, and most DEFINITELY the spice!!! His breathing, the pauses, the build-up, the climax, holy Christ, I felt like I was sweating over here trying to catch my breath. I've read and listened to literally hundreds of MM romance novels, and I want MORE of him!!!! MORE MORE MORE ELLIS EVANS!!!!

Okay, vocal fanboy aside, the story was just incredible. I know the torpe is "taboo" for some people and I really could care less what small minded people think because in reality it's really not a big deal, with that in mind, this was step-brothers done right. The entire story had exactly what I was looking for, and more importantly, just the right amount of it. I hate, and I mean HATE when characters are written in ways that just have you wanting to scream or roll your eyes permanently to the back of your skull with common-sensless stupid missed opportunities or those continuous back and forth "beating around the bush" BS. This was realistic in the sense that the main characters were not brain-damaged idiots who could read the room.

Spice: 5/5 (IT IS SO RARE FOR ME TO RATE SPICE WITH A 5/5 - I HAVE HIGH SPICE STANDARDS AND THIS WAS PERFECTION)

Amazing!!

This book kept me interested. Slow-medium burn. The spice mixed in was done well. The characters were likable and there was a couple topics touched on like parental codependency and alienation which the character worked through but it was a small part of the story so not too heavy. I loved this book. I wish the author had many more. This was written very well with a positive ending. If you like angst othere isn't a lot of that.

Good Book, some grammar issues

Hot and steamy. Couple at age 20 or so. Wish the usage of pronoun agreement was better, For example,
He and I went to the store.
Hearing these errors read on Audible was disappointing.

Fluffy Step-Bro Romance

This book was way more fluffy than I was expecting a book with that title (and cover) to be! I really, really loved the way that this relationship developed. Jessie does the work to realize that he's kind of the problem, not his himbo stepbro, until he deserves Luke. There is very little angst, which was also unexpected, but I still really enjoyed this book!

Absolute Joy To Read

Luke and Jesse are an absolute joy. Their dynamic grows in a very sweet way, with lots of cuddles and spicy times. This low-angst step-brothers story has a wonderful softness to it that compliments the characters well, and a beautiful family dynamic that will make your heart squeeze. The performance is well done, with Evans and DiCosmio complimenting each others performances to make for a very enjoyable listen. Well worth the read!
