So painful to get through

Used to really enjoy this series. absolute slog now. half of this book should be in an index on how the systems work. needs way more story and way less descriptions on Zacks way too many skills.

Another great addition to the series

The book is great and sets up for another book after this. Hope they continue to come out.

Fantastic fantasy story.

Great mix of cultivation and rpg mechanisms. Highly recommend. Love power struggles and over powered.

It begs the question, "why not hire a more experienced editor, at this point"?

Great pacing and creativity, as is usual for the series. It was a relief that there was some downtime, as well as a sense of loss.
Unfortunately the editor was absent or asleep. Flagrant abuse of, "it begs the question", along with similar jargon, miss understood by novice writers. If this series was given a refresh by a more ruthless, and learned editor it would make strides.

Wish I'd stopped halfway through

felt like this series was ok. not great but fine. don't want to spoil anything, but generally, the story takes a big turn about halfway into this entry (not really a twist, as it's clearly coming, but its like a one era ends and a new one begins kind of thing if you get what i mean) and I sort of realized. based on how the pacing has been so far and what the author considers important, it will be 5 books before anything I care about happens again. might come back to it later, but I'm going to find something else for now
