Despite the deception of friends and family, Robin Icethorn has become the King he was destined to be.

But enemies still surround him, some hidden behind the smiles of those he trusts. His world is thrown into chaos when the god's become more than just stories. And Robin will do anything to save his father, his last living relative. Even if that means striking up a deal with the father of the person who tried to murder him.

A Kingdom of Lies takes place after the events of A Betrayal of Storms. Listeners who enjoy stories full of magic, romance and adventure—but with added spice—will love this series. Dive into the Realm of Fey series and uncover your own magic.

Ahhh I need the next one. Book two is a lot heavier than book one, but I found myself unable to stop listening. As usual, the narrator is genius.

What a ride

When I heard that in the authors tic tok I was so exited, I loved Eriks but honestly love Duncan more, and I’m so exited to see what keeps coming.

I’m not one to write reviews but I’m doing it for these books!

The second love interest 👀

I love these series so much. Cannot wait for book three to find out what they do next with the dire situation. The characters are created so in depth and dynamically I got lost in the book.

Amazing!

Such a well done sequel. The emotions Robin goes through absolutely take hold and drag you along for the ride.

Gripping

The story held me captive, even when I wanted to look away. The author doesn't hesitate to have bad things happens to established characters. The events were important to progress the storyline, but somewhat gut wrenching. This 2nd book was just as good as the first, but definitely an emotional rough ride. Can't wait to listen to the final book and she how it's all resolved.

A Kingdom of Lies seeks to deepen Robin Icethorn’s arc as he claws for a kingdom built from ash and betrayal, but the plot demands patience as it lays political traps through long setups. Alderson’s atmosphere engaging but the emotional depth meandered in several key revelations. Leaning heavily inward beats diffuses momentum at times and leaves some characters feeling sidelined. It’s a solid, promise-filled sequel for readers invested in slow-burn political fantasy and Robin’s brutal trajectory.
