Publisher's summary

Enjoy books 1 to 4 in this rocket-paced thriller series at a terrific price!

This collection is a bundle of the first four books in the Private Investigator Mason Black crime thriller series. Welcome to San Francisco, where depraved serial killers lurk in the dark.

Missing (Book 1) – The Carter twins are missing, and only ex-cop Mason Black can help. With his unique knowledge of the killer, he must choose between repairing his marriage or pursuing the kidnapper, opening doors from long ago that were meant to stay closed.

Masquerade (Book 2) – Three bodies are discovered with accusing messages carved into their skin, and they all point toward Private Investigator Mason Black. Hiding from the police, Mason flees across San Francisco in search of vindication–in search of the real killer.

Manhunt (Book 3) – When an entire family is reported missing, Mason is hired to find them. After quickly discovering they were kidnapped by a serial killer known as Anarchy, Mason searches for a man who will stop at nothing to finish the job he started.

Maniac (Book 4) – The Friday Killer has been targeting students, and Mason’s daughter is next on the list. Without the help of his friends on the force, it’s up to Mason to find this killer before it gets personal. Before his own daughter becomes another name in the obituary.

Become lost in this collection of the first four novels in the Private Investigator Mason Black series. A dark, gut-wrenching box set with four edge-of-your-seat stories that will have you up all night.

Disappointing

The plots have/had possibilities but the author disappoints with lack of depth and defining scenery. I feel with some more research the plots could have better fulfilled the promise of the plot, it is a framed house without walls let alone furniture. It misses the suspense and thrill that one would expect, the psychology of the characters misses and character defining situations lack real world placements. Too many stupid reactions despite some would be emotional inspirations.

Horrible

Children being kidnapped and killed. Couldn’t listen to it. Just terrible storylines. Nightmares waiting to surface even after only 10 chapters.

silly and immature writing at best

Very simply not well thought out. Our "hero: is just plain dumb as are most of the other characters. They have no complexity. None of them appear to be really good people, except the daughter that is painted as a too perfect child, making her unbelievable. No way a kid who's father spent too much time at work and had a mother leaving her father for a younger hot guy doesn't have daddy issues and hate her mother. The author also states the obvious over and over. To point you are left say "well...duh", over and over.Ther is no justice or reward for just doing the right thing. all the characters problems are of their own making. I bought the boxed set and couldn't make it past the beginning of the second one before I was so frustrated with ignorant dribble, I had to find something else. vigilantly acts make our lead as evil as the bad guy. He and his cop friend both deserve to go to prison. Skip this one...it's a waste of money.

Lame

Poorly written. Too many mistakes in story. Character development was inconsistent. Plot was painfully contrived.
