The conclusion of the Quincy Harker/Bubba the Monster Hunter Crossover is here!

It's been a long trip, and the body count has been devastating. But despite all their losses, Quincy Harker and his team must soldier on and finish the job. And this job is hunting the SOB that's been making their lives a living hell for the last two years.

Who is behind the corruption at DEMON?

Who is this mysterious Chancellor?

Why are there Nazis in Virginia?

What the hell is up with that burrito truck?!?

There will be explosions, bloodshed, battle, and revelations galore as Harker, Bubba, and both their teams band together in a fight that has been brewing far longer than Harker has any idea. Old grudges will be brought to light, world-wide conspiracies will be uncovered, and deep dark secrets will come back out of the past to haunt Harker and his whole crew as he answers for mistakes of his past in Comes A Reckoning.

This is an enjoyable book but I think the series is running out of steam. Some villains pop up in a deus ex machina kind of way while others are telegraphed from the very beginning.

The commentary on the modern day world does hit home a bit but in a very good way.

Obviously if you are reading this series you understand the title of my review!
I love every bit of this irreverently worded fantasy series with genuinely fresh takes on classic characters and it is one of the few series I have listed to multiple times while waiting for new books to become available. Honestly besides the Orphan X, series, and the Viktor the assassin series this is the only series I have listed to all the way through multiple times.
I love vampire stories, but I don’t want my vamps to be porn stars or to sparkle! Luke is a total bad ass and Harker is everything I want a magical hybrid of Dracula to be.

Now I’m to my one single issue.
The only thing that worries me is that there seems to be several woke themes creeping into the writing of this series, and I’m hoping that is just coincidence because of the inherent need to make sure everyone understands “FUCK NAZIS” and not a portent of what’s to come. Too many book series I loved have been ruined by bringing politics or the green agenda, or really any kind of far left or far right personal ethos into the writing. These books should be an escape from reality, not a reminder of how fucked the world is and continues to be because the middle ground is a barren wasteland in todays America and more broadly the world! All I ask if my favorite authors is to not push their personal politely agenda on me through fiction books, especially dark fantasy or urban fantasy etc. this is not nor will it ever be the place for that. If I wanted to get hit with those themes I would be reading non fiction, or simply watching the damn Lame stream media!

I Fukin Hate Nazis, but I Fukin love Quincy Harker

When I first looked at the reviews for this installment there were several scathing reviews that mentioned the author's politics coming out in the story line. It looks like they have all since been removed by Audible but there are several still on Amazon. I find it annoying when any author allows their political views to shine through in a fictional book, but it is especially annoying when the genre is UF. I listen to UF books to escape real life and lose myself in another world.

That being said, I am a long time John G. Hartness fan and I love the Quincy Harker series. I am hoping that Hartness will not continue to shed his views in future installments but I am planning to continue with this and his other series. I like his humor and writing style. This was a good book and I recommend it if you are a fan.

As always, the narration was excellent!

I have fallen in love with these characters. I enjoy they have the vernacular of pirates and attitudes. I also truly enjoy that the author knows his listeners and readers don’t need everything spelled out for them and are intelligent enough to infer things.

Love the narrator of this series
