JA HUSS DOES IT AGAIN!

I JUST got involved with “romance” novels, like within the past 6 months and JA Huss was my first author to introduce to the world of romance and spice. But that’s not what Huss does exactly is it? After reading all that Audible has to offer from Huss and now a few other “romance” novelists, I can wholeheartedly state that J.A. Huss is a MASTERMIND. Out of all the novels I’ve listened too, she is the ONLY author that has me literally emotionally invested with her characters and stories. I can’t believe we’re not done with Sasha and company and I couldn’t be more thrilled to hear it! I’m SO EXCITED about book 3 in this series and as usual Huss DID NOT disappoint. The mind fuckery continues and it’s amazing! I’m absolutely inlove with Mackenzie’s performance as Wendy. I’m so excited for the final installments to this particular story! Cannot wait!

Couldn't stop listening! Julie reminds me of my wonderful, creative, artist son. The talent just spews out from a bottomless source. if you try to tell him what to paint you are missing out on his endless creativity. After listening to Julie's books and her "Book Shit" I see how blessed we are to enjoy their gifts. I love her characters and their stories.

Twisted! I love it

I am so glad that I started these books when they were all out except the last two…. I would have went crazy waiting! The thing about Julies books though…. She is fast and doesn’t make you wait forever!!! Thank you for that Mrs Huss! She also releases them on audio very quickly! Thank you and please don’t be done with this world! We still have most of the shrike kids and their kids!

Loving these books

I love the titles. I love the imagery. I love the characters and the stories.

Julie is exceptionally good at what she does. If you think you know where the story is going, you don’t. If you think you know what makes the characters tick, you don’t. When you think for sure all the reveals have been revealed, there will probably be at least one more, and it will quite possibly shine new light on all kinds of things from earlier in the book or even previous books.

I love that her work is not trite and formulaic. It is complex and layered. Her characters have depth. They have pasts and futures. They are broken and scarred, have often done terrible things, are not likable at all, and still somehow we feel for them and want them to find their own peace and redemption, even if in their world and by their morals that would look nothing like our own HEA.

Do I recommend this book? Yes. Though this one centers on different characters than books one and two, I would definitely recommend starting with Creeping Beautiful.

Can this series be listened to separate from The Company books? Yes. I’ve not yet consumed that series, and I’m enjoying the heck out of these. I look forward to going back to the beginning with Rook and Ronin to see what that might change about the experience, but these are written in such a way I don’t feel like I’m missing out on anything. I’m only intrigued to go read the rest of the books set in this world.

These narrators are awesome. What more needs to be said?
The occasional bits of duet narration really stand out and are perfect in those scenes. It would not be as good if one actor voiced both characters in those places. Kudos to whoever made that decision. A+
