start to finish amazing!

the narration was great. the creativity and the writing were on point! it's one thing to continuously tell the same story using vampires but the way Chris did it to my knowledge hasn't been done like this absolutely refreshing and for me from start to finish captivating!

Was not expecting to be blown away

Game of Thrones meets Underworld!! WOW! Just WOW! I was not expecting such a hook ,line & sinker type experience with this book. Well done, well paced and well written. I was not ready for this "smack in face", but I liked it" 😁😁. Great job on your first book and I will definitely be waiting on more from this Author in the future.

Medieval Fantasy

I’m usually not a fan of medieval fantasy but this book took me by surprise. I thoroughly enjoyed the characters and the storyline took me in and I couldn’t stop listening. I had to know what happened next. I really hope this is the first in a series!

Enjoy This Rich and Mature Fantasy

This audio book is in the tradition of contemporary fantasy, and is a satisfying pleasure. A feudal dynasty consorts with demons from its past, resulting in both powerful and tragic outcomes. Complex characters cross between good and evil, and sometimes back again, when faced with unbearable temptations. The sympathetic viewpoints are a strong point in this book, but might not be suitable for pre-adolescents though mature teens will probably understand and enjoy them.

The story is well woven and can be followed in a single run, but also benefits from going back to review, or even multiple listens. Similarly, having a copy of the book in hand is helpful but not necessary, as the audio book stands on its own.

Getting immersed in this world, and its all too understandable enticements, is a great pleasure. This book is a good gift idea for fantasy lovers on any list.

Really good start to a series by a new author

This was a really good start to s new series by a new author. I listened to this twice before writing my review because I wanted to make sure I took everything in. First off I enjoyed the listens very much. The narrator was good but he needs work on his female voices but overall it was a job well done on the narration. I have listened to over 300 audio books and a bad narrator can ruin the experience but this was not the case. The story itself was also very good, although it did not go down the path I was expecting which is good and bad. I don't want to give too much away because it may spoil some things for you, but I liked it regardless. I am looking forward to the next book of the series and seeing where the author takes this story.
