Wow

Wow this was definitely a ride I enjoyed being on. I was hooked from the moment I hit play and was extremely shocked by all sorts of this that happened in this story. The struggle between these characters pulled at my heart and I just wanted to hug them both. They each had their own things they were battling with and trying to cope with. I loved these characters though this a rather dark story with lots of revenge and violence. I love this author and this was a very good book. The narrator did a fantastic job.

Why did I wait so long to listen

I'm not sure why I avoided this book for so long but dang. I wish I hadn't. It was hard to hear some parts but it was so good. Zane and Reed were two broken characters that needed each other.
I loved Kirt Graves' narration of this book. The dynamic duo that is K. A. Merikan never disappoints. Great listen. It's still pretty dark but deliciously so.

Unusual mc story

I’m reviewing the audio edition. I don’t normally do anything with any paranormal involved but I had read this author before so could not resist this story. It is totally different than I expected. The mc club has a small part. It’s mostly the relationship between the mc president who happens to be Roach’s dad and Roach. This has to be one of the more horrible father son relationships I’ve read about. Hulk does unimaginable things to his son and it leaves a permanent scar on him. When Roach interacts the first time with Zane it is anything but a love story. After that initial meeting Roach and Zane actually feel each other’s pain. The road they travel to being a couple has a number of twists and surprises. I’m glad I decided to ask for a copy of this from Gay Romance Reviews. I wasn’t sure I’d like the paranormal but it didn’t really play as big a part as I expected. I think a big part of why I enjoyed the story is due to the Narrator Kirt Graves. I feel his performance brought reality to the story.

Tough won HEA

Wow, this book puts you through the wringer. I spent so much time both rooting for and wanting to smack these characters. Zane and Roach have both been put through so much and their walls are so high. True enemies to lovers. Kirt Graves narration was so good. If you love a good enemies to lovers story and a ton of angst then this is for you.

A toxic romance that keeps you wanting more

I want to start off by saying, if you want something purely wholesome, this book will not be for you, but if you are willing to recognize that these two really aren't the best human beings and their relationship is undeniably toxic, then grab some popcorn and dive in.
I found the story super interesting, it kept me intrigued and I just adore when stories jump back and forth between the two's point-of-views. Especially when they differ so much. I could see myself siding with both of them and understanding where each was coming from, but also was so frustrated (in a good way) by how thick headed they can be. A great enemies-to-lovers read if you're okay with some heart-breaking, soul-shattering stuff mixed in.

Dark and Sweet

This author/narrator combination is perfection. Emotional, twisted, and sexy. Kirt Graves really makes this an amazing listen. The magic/paranormal aspect doesn’t overshadow the main characters as their relationship develops.

Unusual Tale of Romance

Wow! I was completely blown away with this unusual story by this fantastic writing duo. Everything I've read by them has been excellent, and I was waiting for this to come out in audio because the blurb sounded interesting. Once I saw it was narrated by Kirk Graves, I knew I had to listen to it. He absolutely nailed it. His work was flawless from the beginning to the end. As for the story, I don't want to give anything away since I didn't know what to expect. I wouldn't pass on this one; I hated when I had to pause it.

Brilliant!! Deeply emotional and steamy romance!

This is a dark, gritty but absolutely riveting and original enemies-to-lovers romance. The forced proximity angle is written in such a way that it is deliciously intense, even a little evil. Zane and Roach have both had their share of pain and tragedy and make for a very unlikely match, and even though the heat is scorching, there’s nothing easy about the road to a deep emotional connection.
Roach is the one that tugged on my heartstrings the most. He’s so needy and desperate for warmth and affection, I was amazed at how willing he is to love and make himself vulnerable to Zane. Especially, with how much he gets kicked down and treated awfully by nearly everyone in his life. He’s no angel, but he carries so much pain within him that you can’t help but root for him and want so much more for him than what life has given him.
Zane is more of an enigma and it takes a while to warm up to him, because of the secret hiding in his past. He seems cruel and prickly, but he’s so vulnerable too and such an intriguing character. Both the aggressor and the victim. He’s much more of a mystery than Roach and has walls around the walls around his heart. When they drop, you’ll fall. Hard. Same as Roach.

Narration: I’ve got nothing but accolades and admiration for Kirt Graves’s performance of this gripping story. He does an amazing accent for Zane, and absolutely nailed it when it came to Zane’s attitude and inner pain and anger. I could listen to him for hours, and did  He also did an incredible job with Roach, brilliantly catching his vulnerability, desperation and the warm heart hiding under his gruff exterior. I love his interpretation of K.A. Merikan’s world and characters.

All the feels

This book has all the feels. Gruffy broken softy and a hot mess musician. I love all of KA Merikan's books. This book did not disappoint. Kirt Graves was such a great choice for narration.

Great Enemies to Lovers story

I enjoyed this book so much and listened to entire 11+ hours non-stop until the end. Enemies to Lovers is my favorite trope and this story was a perfect combination of hate, violence, love and hot and steamy times between unlikable heroes. Even though both Reed and Zane are so very damaged, I like both characters and was captivated by their interactions and relationship development. This story is very dark with description of abuse and violence and lots of pain, but it had some very sweet moments and second chances. Narrator did a great job with voices and story and made this a perfect listening experience.
