For anyone out there who has not yet taken the opportunity to experience any of Lindsay Buroker’s creations, you can stop searching for your new obsession. This is one talented, and underrated author.

The Emperors Edge series has been very enjoyable and just keeps getting better with each volume I digest. Love your work Lindsay! Keep em coming😁

Although action packed, Forged in Blood is very similar to the books before it. In spite of the fact that it was a bit formulaic, I still found it entertaining and interesting. I can't wait to finish the series.

What a Cliffhanger!

I was so excited when this audio book finally became available. I love this story, the plot, the characters, and the personality. This is Lindsay Buroker's first fantasy series, and it's fantastic! The main problem was waiting for the audio book to come out! However, she informed me she was waiting to be able to release Forged in Blood I & II close to the same time because of a huge cliffhanger. I thought, whatever, just release them, I'm ready to finish this series!

Well, she wasn't wrong. I got to the end and BAM! What a cliffhanger. I held my fist in the air and shook it!

This follows Amaranthe and Sicarius as well as the rest of the team. It digs deeper into Sicarius and his thoughts, which is a nice touch, with him being emotionless the entire time, it's nice to get a peak into his mind. The rest of the characters are brilliant as ever, and the team does all they can to infiltrate the city to allow the emperor to reclaim the throne! But it's not as easy as that. Everyone is trying to get the throne now, and no one knows who to trust.

This reminds me a bit of Wheel of Time as they try and conquer the White Tower, but this is more in the outskirts of the city. However, there were a few parallels that were nice.

I love the series, and can't wait to finish it! The narrator for the audio book does a fantastic job!
