Great Story & Narration🎧4.5 Captivating Stars🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

I thoroughly enjoyed this book, it grabbed my attention right from the start and held it captive to the very end. This is my first book by L. Ann, she is a gifted author with a great writing style and creative mind. The world dynamics and characters she created are imaginative, complex and well developed. Her storylines are original and interesting, I liked her spin on shifters and how she made it all seem realistic and relatable. Cassie walks in on her boyfriend and roommate in a compromising position, she flees and runs to her former home, before it was sold it was her place to go think. She finds a hidden key and enters. Shaun is showering in his pack’s new residence when Cassie walks in. Unsure who she is he goes on the defense, but he soon finds out why she is there, he also finds out there is a spark between them. I really liked Shaun, he has a good heart and is great with and for Cassie. While they both had their own issues, Shaun knew what he wanted, it took Cassie a little longer to come on board. This is one action packed story, I loved how everything played out, in addition to the start of a great romance there is plenty of drama, angst, thrilling suspense and twists, not only with the hunter and who it turns out to be but also with Cassie and her family. I adore the alpha male shifters, the camaraderie between them and how they look out for each other. This is the start of a great series, I am looking forward to what comes next in the series. Thank you L. Ann for this great story.

I listened to the Audible edition, Mike Peterman is a terrific narrator and voice performer. He brings these characters to life, gives them their voice and personality, as well as heart and attitude. He did a great job projecting the emotions of the characters and the drama of the story into his performance. He is an entertaining storyteller and a pleasure to listen to. Thank you for this great listen🎧

Love the story, but Peterman drops is lacking

I love the story but Peterman is not the person to do the narration for romance EVER.

Sick. twisted,evil

Sam was a disgusting pos and liar! The three wolf brothers have some major women problems. lol. Cassie really ticked me off, and I could throat punch her hard. Shaun was good to her and so was the pack, but she still acted like a scared victim with him way too often. Cassie acted like she had an intellectual deficit with her behaviors and lack of grey matter.. Sam was such a whiny petulant bully and he sickened me. How could Cassie stay with him 2 years ?? So many surprises, secrets, betrayals and more. Cliffy with evil still on the loose, and more to come from the brothers, mates, and villains. The narrator's voice and expressions brought it all to life.

These wolves have everything you could want in a story.....love, loyalty and action. You will not be disappointed if you take a chance on them.

Good story…terrible narrator

The storyline is very good and worthy of a series. The characters are likable. You can tell that this was the introduction of what is a potentially great series

Unfortunately, the narrator makes you think twice about purchasing the other books. His voice lacks infliction. In fact, he sounds like the worst professor lecturing your favorite subject.

I truly want to here the rest of the story but if Michael Pederson is the narrator I’ll have to take a hard pass.

This series has potential, with a bit of tweaking!

I was a bit surprised that I didn’t hate this book. Fellow reviewer, Carolyn from New Jersey, and I usually have very similar tastes in books. When I read her negative review, I actually dreaded this listen. I was pleasantly surprised that this book had potential. Granted, the audio quality was not pleasant. You could hear the Narrator swallowing and the sound quality was awful. It did get better as the book progressed. The storyline also got better as the story progressed. With just a bit of editing to decrease the choppiness of the plot, this series could end up being quite good.

Shaun’s book!!!

Read this on my kindle first then listened on audio. Mike does a stellar job narrating this series. This book was the first I had read by L Ann. It captured my heart and soul. I couldn’t put it down. Mikes narration brought the book to life! I’ve now read every book she has written and he has brought each to life and enhanced her words. Highly recommended!

Interesting to listen too!! I have never read/heard a shifter book where there was substance abuse and it made the book a keeper for me right off the bat. The story line and characters have me craving the next 3 books in the series!
