Wow! I just finished Ulrik’s story and I’m so, so happy. Through all the 12 books I’ve always rooted for Ulrik. I never wanted him to be totally bad, never wanted him to do anything unforgivable. However, I was surprised to see who his love-interest is. She was one I thought was totally going to be bad. But, surprise!

And, jeez, I was surprised to hear what Ulrik’s special kind of magic was. I wondered how he’d saved Lily several books back but now I know. It’s awesome. I’m so glad Ulrik got his HEA.

Again it was so nice seeing so much of Rhi and Constantine in this book. And it’s almost past time for them to take care of Usaeil, the Fae Queen, who’s been a piece of crap for the past few books.

There was explicit sex in this, a couple of times, and the F-bomb was used 16 times.

As to the narration: Sometimes I can stand Antony Ferguson but sometimes I can’t. This was a can’t time. His women’s voices were just bad and when he did try to speak as a woman there is not an ounce of emotion in his voice and he still sounded too manly, making the conversation totally ridiculous.

Great read and pretty bad and listen..

This is book #13 in the Dark Kings series. This is my 2nd time reading this book. And it was just as amazing as the first time I read it. Ulrik is an amazing and deep character. He has been filled with so much hate towards the other kings for so long it's all he thinks about. But when he meets a druid he starts to realize there is other things to think about. And she may be able to replace all that hate with something else.

Excellent book!!

Very well written, intense and eye opening. Many facts about the Dragon King feud are false. Finally understanding what really happened is amazing. Can't wait for the next book.

Con and Orich's possible reconciliation.

Well, I can't say I'm not disappointed that after 13 books & 3 Novellas, The reader is no closer to finding out which King is Rhie's or Rhie's !!(Since At book8 or 9 they changed the way it's pronounced.SMH. At least w Ulriks Story, it has been a (long time coming but) there was a building anticipation for him to finally get his life back on track w His TRUE MATE Eilish whom until just recently was brought into the story at end of book 11,and caught on camera talking w Michael & him asking her to kill Ulrik & Con. Only described as Druid Beauty w/ a Silver ring that ran from her 2nd knuckle to sharp nail like tips on her last 3 fingers & Mocha skin ,who truly did not know Ulrik until book 12. (Where She was starting to find out more of how big of a liar & Jerk Michael really was). Which is All relevant(I say this because of I only read reviews & knew nothing about the story line of other Kings & their mates and decided to start reading this book I would be very confused) so as You will find as You get swept away in this Story, please keep that in mind. Ulriks magic was particularly unlocked from a different Druid, which if you go back a few books, well that's where you will find out the whole truth of it & how the magic binding ALL Kings from falling in Love was broken as well.

Other than the fact that I am annoyed with the Rhie's story line, this was a really and truly well written story. I like to think that DG actually listens to the desires of her readers , because there are several times in this Series that I have found myself LOL ,crying, feeling a bit flush in the steamy parts & even talking to the evil /bad ppl in the story like (that's what you get). But never more than in this most recent book. Ok if it's bcuz a more lighter/likable side of Ulriks personality showed more or if it was that Michael got what He deserved or Mrs.Queen of the Light Fae was knocked down a leg or if it was just the combination of it all but I finished this book feeling like I knew a lot more about quite a few characters then any of the books in this Series this far.
I hope that I am not left wanting & waiting for something more than "Him" to be said of Rhie's King in the next book to drop. For as much as She is always trying to help her Friends, she sure gets the Sh*t end of the stick A Lot . Don't think I will buy another one from the series of so. You can only stretch something like that out for so long. Even if it's just to have her give him a hard time. A sad Rhie, who isn't even sassy...just not the same.

At Last Ulriks Story!
