Soooo good!

This was a very enjoyable listen. I am typing as fast as I can so I can start the next book. Realistic characters whom you will be cheering for and bad guys whose demise you will relish.

this is so far a great kick off to what is shaping up to be an amazing story. Craven has the right recipe for cooking up incredible tales.

This book was given to me for free at my request and I proved this voluntary review.

I am a regular listener of the post apocalyptic genre of stories. I also enjoy books narrated by Kevin Pierce. Although this was my first book by Boyd Craven, it did not disappoint.

This book doesn't start as the typical end-of-the-world, post apocalyptic prepper story. The author builds the storyline, giving the listener a background into the lives of the main characters.

The first half of the book gives a very belivable storyline of the characters, and the skills they possess, which prepare them for the dangers of a major solar storm which disrupts the power grid.

The second part of the book is action packed and suspenseful. It isn't full of unbelievable shootouts and unrealistic violence. However, it does have realistic scenarios which the average person might find themselves involved with if such an event occurred.

The ending left me wanting to download the next in the series, which I am eagerly anticipating. I can envision the main characters becoming more involved with each other and working together to survive the new world which they are now forced to survive.

As always, Mr Craven III comes through.

I've lost more sleep unable to put Craven's book down than I have in my 70+ years since I discoverd his books. Wish he would write faster!

A true storyteller

There are some books that keep you on the edge of your seat the entire time. There is so much action, that there is little time for character development. Craven has a unique way of taking a compelling story, with action, and delivering it in a way that is remarkable. Then he leaves you with a gut wrenching cliff hanger. One of my favorite authors out there. #dammitboyd

Another great book!

I have read several of Boyd Cravens books. I have really enjoyed them all. This book is just as enthralling as the others. This story has really drawn me in and I can’t wait to listen to the other books.

Outlaw Prepper

I really like the twist on the genre and Boyd does a great job in developing his characters and drawing in his readers. As a dog guy I loved the inclusion of Raider and have seen some of the behaviors listed expressed by my own dogs. As always Kevin Pierce as an excellent narrator and definitely elevates the story with his talent. Boyd dropped a cliffhanger at the end so I will immediately be purchasing the next book in the series.
