Gail and Jesse have their own guilt to bear, both tormented by a secret they have no choice but to keep.

Is it their fault Alissa died?

All they want is to help Mark through his grief, but his true plight soon becomes apparent. Evil is waiting, and it's worse than they can imagine.

This ghost story is a riff on the well-known urban myth about a mysterious woman in white who appears along deserted roads. Following a tragic accident that claimed the life of his girlfriend, Mark becomes lost in a haze of grief, guilt and regret. When he attempts to call her back from the beyond to apologize, he opens the door to supernatural peril that endangers not only his life, but the friends who come to his aid, Gail and Jesse.

The characterization is what makes this more than just a ghost story. Mark, Gail and Jesse are driven by their own motivations and reasons, which makes for a dynamic interplay among this cast of characters. We see Gail and Jesse's relationship as ghost hunters develop as they learn to trust each other while battling paranormal elements to save others' lives and sanity.

Jennifer Gilmour does a super job narrating the story. Her delivery is clear, well paced and easily differentiates between characters.

This is an audible book I requested and the review is voluntary.
This is a pretty spooky book about evil spirits and ghosts. A good haunting, or rather a bad one! Good plot, interesting characters, and even spirit guides ( one is a sweet dog!).
Suspenseful, thrills, and ghosts...great book! Even a touch of romance.
The narrator was good, thick British accent that was different for this Yank but this was the second book I have listened to by her and I getting used to it!

Great spooky story!

This was a well narrated and enjoyable listen. It's a ghost story and is well executed. All in all, it's worth a listen if you want a good paranormal story.

This was an enjoyable ghost story. It was definitely worth listening to and I would recommend it. It wasn't terribly predictable and had a good ending. I was voluntarily provided this review copy audiobook at no charge by the author, publisher and/or narrator.

Entertaining haunting story

What's not to like when you have a Oiuja board, a ghostly apparition (the woman in white, a couple of seances and a possible haunting? Mark and Alissa leave their friend's new (haunted) home after a wonderful dinner. When a woman dressed in white appears in the middle of the road, Mark is forced to crash instead of hitting her. Tragedy ensues and Mark blames himself for what happens.

Their friends, Jessie and Gail, have experience with spirits and try to figure out what has happened. Meanwhile, Mark finds himself seeing and hearing things that can't be real. Is he losing his mind? Or, has Alissa come back to haunt him?

If you enjoy ghost stories, this is a pretty good one. I didn't realize that this was the second book in a series and I wish that I had read the first one before this one, but the author does a pretty good job with detailing what transpired to make Jessie and Gail think that they can get rid of the malevolent spirit causing all the problems.

The author does a great job with building tension throughout the characters' encounters with beings from another realm. The narrator, Jennifer Gilmour, is perfect for this book and added a lot to my listening enjoyment. I was given the chance to listen to the audiobook version of this book by the author/narrator/publisher and chose to review it.
