Raiders

Anna and her Naval Intelligence Agency (NIA) teammates have a new high-priority assignment: foreign raiders who are wreaking havoc within the United Alliance of Stars. They hit high value targets, have access to inside information, kill the security guards, and leave no witnesses.

The NIA team soon discovers the raiders' system has been well thought out and has no weak links to exploit. The raiders prove arrogant, resourceful, and in no hurry to leave. So when the raiders discover the NIA team assigned to catch them broke the smuggler's organization, their solution's simple - kill them.

With a Wanted-Dead-Only reward on their heads, the team finds nowhere is safe, not even on a naval war cruiser, and realize the longer it takes to unravel the raiders' complex system of communications, the more the odds favor the raiders succeeding.

But the team has an ally who might just make the difference - a Red Angel.

It’s really well written

I only rarely read space opera’s but the subject of this one caught my attention. I am not disappointed I started reading it, and will keep either reading or listening to the rest of the series.
The narrator are really good at changing her voice from character to character, and that really adds to the story.

worthwhile series

Overall this is a solid, even-tempered series with a few irritating tropes. As the story evolves over five books, you may start to cringe at the lizard explanation, Kris joking about her future children, Anna being a fearsome bloodhound, and especially Anna being supremely competent while all other professionals often barely succeed tying their shoes. Still, the plots are interesting and none of the books are regrettably bad.

A delightful story

These books remind me of the radio dramas that I enjoyed as a child. They have a lot of the same thematic elements. However, the writing is more sophisticated and well worth the read.

Another great book

Anna has another large case that gets her and her team in trouble. She is attacked repeated and spends time hospitalized. The Raiders even put million credit bounties on her teams heads for wanted dead. They make few new allies but more enemies. Red continues to save the lives of Anna and others around her. She is constantly dealing with her own conscience because of people dying around her. I do enjoy this series because the characters are well developed.

I love this series!

I'm really having a good time listening to these Red Angel audiobooks by C.R. Daems. I love the stories, and the action and the characters involved. And I'm intrigued by Anna's (the main character) unique connection to her dear friend Red. I also loved the narration performance by Gabrielle de Cuir, she's awesome! I highly recommend this series! Thank you.
