Great flow of story and character

this is a great series thus far. I've read many series and this one is in top tier. easy to come along the characters and action in the story.

So many chases, even characters are tired...

Three books, and the constant and unlucky chain of events regarding chases and chance encounters. I hope the books start to get a little deeper and more focused on the world.

I adore this series

I haven't read or listened to anything that has grabbed me as much as these books in years. This one was great because I always wondered if they would get caught. Love it.

Narrator was absolutely amazing! This story is so good. Very good character development as well as superbly described action! You'll feel like your there, experiencing what the characters are going through and struggling with....so good. I cannot wait to continue this EPIC tale!! Thank you A.C. Cobble.

This series is absolutely fantastic and is a must read. One of the best series I've read

Getting annoying but still a good read

Character interactions grow, skills are increased and conflict is still ever present in this book. The action and the battles are still exciting to more, more so now that Ben is finally starting to show more skill in his swordplay, although he still ends up flat on his back most of the time and though there aren't anymore reveals into anyone's past, I'm excited about the growth in relationships the companions are experiencing.

Through this and the narrator's performance, the book is an enjoyable read with the exception of a few things. As you may have surmised, they are still being chased by the same enemy from book 1. For me, this made me lose tension towards the mage who is basically the "big bad". Mainly because the same cycle repeats; companions encounter mage, companions get tossed around like a sack of potatoes, companions somehow manage to rally and escape but are never able to do anything towards the mage. We're at the third book and still nothing seems resolved.

Another gripe that I have are characters still acting naive or elements of the story not being explained or ignored. Heck, at one point where there's a chance for the mage to maybe be defeated, a companion suddenly proclaims that swords won't do anything but doesn't explain why or how they came to that conclusion. In an another case, Ben specifically observes a companion seemingly communicating with the mage but again nothing comes of it. He never confronts anyone nor does it seem like he tells anyone else.

Look, I don't mind foreshadowing but when it is a character who makes the foreshadowing observation and they don't do anything, contrary to their normal behaviors, it is frustrating.

Despite this, I am still happy to recommend this book. I do hope, though, that things finally change in the 4th book.

Mesmerizing!

Got into trouble with my wife because I couldn't stop listening! This is a great series and a great book.

Great epic!

This book and series quickly rose to among the top of my list of the best fantasy stories if ever heard!

lover's too much

I liked the relationship between the main. character and the main female character up to the point before this book started. now the author has chose to have them be sexually active and has made warrior in training appear weak and stumbled over his words to often. why make a strong domineering character able to battle the most worthy foes so stupid and idiotic when it comes to girls?
