Only one person can protect her, and that's me.

After escaping their home, six aliens, including Benzen, hope to find freedom on a different planet. They end up crashing onto a strange planet, a strange culture, and even stranger inhabitants.

They expected to learn some new things. However, one didn't expect to find love.

The Orba warriors are on the run from their people, now that their once peace-loving planet has been taken over by a hostile dictator, Palzu. They find out that they ended up on Earth and meet a young woman named Allison who takes them under her wing.

When Palzu's soldiers come after them, the group splits up and Benzen stays behind to protect Allison. But then he starts to develop feelings for her.

What will happen when he's forced to show her what he truly is? Will she accept him or fear him? And will they be able to escape Palzu's forces?

Benzen is the first book in the Warriors of Orba series, following the Orba warriors and the human women that love them. Each book in this science-fiction series can be read as standalones, there are no cliffhangers, and a guaranteed happily ever after!

This was an interesting novel about Brett, the male lead, and Cassie, the female lead, and

how they find love in an unexpected place.

They are from two different world with nothing in common or so they might think.

Overall, this was an interesting story that included love, family, and a little magic.

Sierra Kline did well with the narration.

What aspect of Sierra Kline’s performance would you have changed?

The narration was okay.

Sierra Kline has a good voice and reads well. I question, however, the match between the story and the narrator. I think a different narrator or set of narrators might have been a better choice.

On the plus side, I could tell which character was speaking and the narration didn't take me out of the story. It took a couple of chapters to settle into the narration, but then it was okay.

What the narration did not do was help to keep my interest and focus during slower or more confusing portions of the book. A really good narrator or a good match between narrator and story can really enhance the story and keep the reader interested. I found myself having to rewind a couple of times near the end of the book because I was losing the story.

This is a good Alien Romance.

There is a strong story throughout the book with plenty of suspense and twists to keep you entertained.

Most of this story is strong and interesting. It flowed well, kept me interested, and made me want to know how it ended. I prefer books that are a bit longer and I think the extra story would have enhanced the book, but overall it's good.

There are, however, a couple of places where I found myself looking for more information to better flesh out the story. I find myself with questions about characters and occurrences in the book that are not answered.

At the beginning of the book, I found myself trying to figure out what was going on. It was like the story started in the middle of a scene. It was confusing for the first few chapters but as the story went on, most of the relevant information is revealed.

I have some questions that still nag me, however. For example, what exactly is the relationship between the members of Benson's crew. We get some of this information through the story, but not as much as I would have liked. I was also confused by the choices made late in the book regarding the rest of the crew. There are some other places where I felt fleshing out the information a bit more would have made the story easier better.

Toward the end of the book as things are wrapping up, there are some jumps in logic. There is also some information revealed about a couple of important characters that comes out of the blue and is not explained. It makes the ending feel a bit unfinished even though the story is wrapped up. Hopefully these questions will be answered through the rest of the series.

Overall, this is a good book for a human alien romance. I recommend it. Worth a credit if you like the genre, definitely pick it up on sale.

Thanks Zara for giving me the opportunity to read Benson.

Who was your favorite character and why?

I liked Benzen with his out of the box thinking.

What about Sierra Kline’s performance did you like?

Sierra's performance gives all of the characters their own personality.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I thought that them trying different earth foods really funny. funny yellow hands? sounds like bananas to me.

Good start to a series. Entertaining, fun and enjoyable short story. It's a good story for those days when you want something a little different. The Warriors from Orba are refugees from outer space looking for a safe place to live.

Romance, a bit of action, humor, aliens, mental abilities, strange new world, and a HEA.

While the story was entertaining, engaging and interesting enough to keep my attention it would have been nice to have a little of their backstory before they landed on earth. As well as a bit more of the relationship between Allison and Benzen. But then again, there is only so much you can fit into a shorter story.

It started out with a bit of action then slowed down for a while to focus on the warriors acclimating to their new surroundings then picked up again with more action.

The "innocence" of the Orba warriors in their new surroundings was humorous to hear. Having to learn the "human" ways of life and trying to adopt to their surroundings gave the story a lighter tone in between the action.

It is the first in the series so not all the lingering questions are answered in this book. I am actually looking forward to the next book in the series. It synopsis sounds really good.

Sierra Kline did a good job with the narration. Pleasant voice. Easy to listen to for long periods of time. Good character voices even her male voices are good. Clearly spoken with a nice pace. She was able to make the characters come to life. Very enjoyable.
