The Event Group is faced with an impossible mission in the latest heart-pounding hit from the New York Times best-selling author of Carpathian.

In 267,000 BCE the continent was its own world, untouched by the planetwide catastrophe that ended the reign of the dinosaurs over 65 million years before. A traveler arrives in the jungles of this ancient world who will fight to survive carnivorous creatures in a land never meant for humankind.

In another time and in a land far distant, men and women struggle to recover from the loss of so many of their own in a battle. Inside of this group, Colonel Jack Collins has summoned the best of the best from the most secretive organization in the United States government, the Event Group, to help him in his quest. The new mission is to recover one of their own: to bring home a lost soldier from a world that existed in the distant past.

To accomplish the impossible, Department 5656, the Event Group, will have to travel to a place and time far removed from their own world - almost 300,000 years in the past. The trail to find the technology to accomplish time travel will be ripe with treachery and murder as the group fights to bring home their friend, Captain Carl Everett, a man who was lost in a battle to save the world. This will be a fight that, if lost, will change the very history of the planet and thus our present.

Would you consider the audio edition of The Traveler to be better than the print version?

I always prefer paper for every story. The surroundings and performer place their interpretation upon the story; impeding my own imagination.
Now if you can't read, listen!

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

No. The event series is not going to make anyone cry. There will be chuckles and "great jobs" though.

Any additional comments?

The series is fun. I enjoy the writer. He has grown the characters in fantastic ways. They have changed as people should after their experiences.

The Event Series is fun.

This book has to be one of my favorite books yet! I love how the EVENT group is evolving. They are challenged with not only their loyalty, but also their morality. I love this series. I truly do. I never know from one book to the next what is going to happen, or where the EVENT group is going to end up. I love not only the military, government, and Country aspects of the Group, but also the little bits of history thrown in. That just makes these books AMAZING! I am sure that someone is using this book for a conspiracy theory as I type this! (haha but maybe)!! I am going to be SO SAD when I have finished this series. I am only a few books from doing that. I am SO hoping Author Davie Goleman has more in the works!

My Favorite YET!!!!

What made the experience of listening to The Traveler the most enjoyable?

Richard Poe for one, who always brings it. Just the overall experience of the Event Group, and the interplay of the characters, is always a good time.

What was one of the most memorable moments of The Traveler?

The descriptions of the Antarctic were compelling, esp. the wildlife.

What about Richard Poe’s performance did you like?

Everything. He is consistently one of the most professional and listenable performers on Audible. His reading of the Russians, and the Frenchmen, are compelling.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

The epilogue was damn good work.

Any additional comments?

OK so they use the words" a**" and "frozen" far , FAR too often ( not offensive, just tiresome )> Not sure the use of "rock" was correct either. There were more than the usual number of little hiccups and such, and it could have been edited better.

That said, it is a strong contributor to the series, and well worth the credit!

The Event Group continue to rock!
