Sigh-Worthy Fluffy Fun Fairy Tale

This book is a light and easy to follow romance that has funny moments, endearing secondary characters, and some twists and turns I didn't see coming.

Issy is a plain 26 year old spinster who has given up on love. Ransom is a handsome proud Duke who has been given up on life. Together they embark on a quest to discover a better life and, of course, love.

This book is not a detailed historical romance it's more of a sigh-worthy fluffy fun romantic fairy tale. It's a cute rainy (or snowy) day listen.

fun and frolicsome

the storyline is quite amusing and refreshingly different from the genre in general. The Romantic scenes are extensive. Whether that's a plus or minus depends on your personal taste.

I want more books by Dare!

Dare is one of my favorite authors. Her stories are witty with likable, well developed characters. I found myself laughing out loud at times, and groaning at others. She pulls you into the story and you don't want to leave. No great stresses or intrigues to bedevil the reader, but instead an enjoyable read with lots of humor and humanity.

A delightful book!

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. it was clever, funny, had such original story elements, excellent characterisation (Izzy and Ransom are such enjoyable leads), steamy love scenes and a satisfying HEA. I'm truly sorry it's all over! (Maybe I'll be lucky and theyll make a moviw version one day.) And Carmen Rose's narration was top notch. Female narrators often do such cringe-worthy male voices, but Carmen got the Duke just right. Well done all.
