A vampire has a number of handy skills - he can walk through walls, shrug off bullets, and hypnotize mortals. But one thing this particular vampire cannot do is trace his mother - until now. His trail leads him to a 200-year-old gigolo with a taste for blood, who claims not to know where she is - but who would trust a vampire?

I was very skeptical about the new narrator at first having enjoyed the first one emensely. But after getting used to his voice, with the exception of his stumbling over some accents, it was quite enjoyable.
The story was interesting and unexpected as well.

Enjoyed it more than expected

Chicago, September 1936. Jonathan “Jack” Flemming and his friend Escott continued to look for Maureen, Jack’s Master. In their investigation, they discovered Jonathan Barrett, an old lover of Maureen’s some three decades ago. This was the best lead they had come across. Their investigation now concentrated on Barrett. Did Barrett have something to do with Maureen’s disappearance? What did Barrett know? There were also three women identified in the investigation. What did they know or how were they involved? An exciting conclusion to the series.

Seems like I've been waiting forever for the next book in this series. I was somewhat hesitant when I saw that Barrett Whitener was not the narrator for this book but Johnny Heller does a respectable job. The book itself caught my interest right away and kept it for the entire book. I was afraid it had been so long since I'd listened to the others that I wouldn't remember what was going on but the book did a good job of refreshing my memory without overdoing it. I hope Audible is going to release the rest of the books in the series now that they've done this one and that the wait for the next will be much shorter!

More! More!

I love this series and the first two (2) audiobooks were great, but this new voice actor has more of a 1930’s feel to his voice (at least what I imagine people sounded like in the 1930’s due to the movies I have enjoyed). I love that this series is in audiobook format! On to the next book!

Love the new voice actor
