Most famous for his tales of crime and deduction, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle also had a passion for suspense, the supernatural, and the macabre, as demonstrated in this collection of gothic short stories. This set contains the stories 'The New Catacomb', 'Playing with Fire', 'The Terror of Blue John Gap', 'The Case of Lady Sannox', 'The Brown Hand', and 'The Los Amigos Fiasco'. So get ready for Doyle’s vivid, spine-tingling imagination to unnerve and thrill you in equal measure!

A fantastic collection of gothic macabre tales similar to Lovecraft, M.R. James and others. I prefer classic horror because it is more interesting without guts and gore. Few would have guessed that Sir Arthur had written a style different from Holmes. This volume 2 masterfully narrated by Phil Reynolds. On to book 3 in the 5 volume series.

What did you love best about The Darker Side of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, Volume 2?

What can I say. Fantastic. Such wonderful narration, so fun to hear a little Conan Doyle outside the normal Sherlock territory.

What other book might you compare The Darker Side of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, Volume 2 to and why?

There are some Gothic Tales of Horror compilations, and one about Classic Crime Short Stories that are rather in the same vein. Creepy, great, fun.

What does Phil Reynolds bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Fantastic accents.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Oh gosh, when Douglas Stone realizes what he's done in "The Case of Lady Sannox"! Come ON! Worth every penny!

Just wonderful.
