I loves this book just as good as the first one. Patricia Briggs is a great writer. Highly recommend this story and the first book too. And if you like this story you should read her books with mercy thompson serise they are great too. My only little disapointment in this book was the reader did not do the same voice for charles that he used in the first book. Other wise I love his reading of this book he really brings this book alive. Hope you enjoy.

Great story

This is a multiple reread of Charles' and Anna's evolving relationship and of the politics prior to the werewolves announcement of their existence to the human world.
Charles is learning to lower the wall he surrounds himself with just as street cops and soldiers must if they are to navigate a love relationship successfully. Anna is learning to overcome past abuses and trust Charles as she has never trusted anyone.
The North American werewolves are readying to announce their presence to the world at large, but there still are dominance issues with the insane alpha of a European pack. Throw in some untrustworthy fae, self-involved nasty vampires, and a lot of treachery, and you have a fascinating read.
The publisher's blurb gives hints, and spoilers are inappropriate.

Holter Graham is perfect!

Did Holter Graham do a good job differentiating all the characters? How?

I jumped into this story having just finished listening to the novella to this series. Perhaps it is my ear, but Bran's voice in the novella now sounds like Charles' voice in Hunting Ground and vice versa. Mr Graham???

What about Holter Graham’s performance did you like?

I like it when the performance disappears and the story lays itself out, and that's just what this reader did.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Oh, yeah! But it's too long for that. Still, I would have if I'd had the time!
