Incredible

What an amazing story. This book really blows wide open the whole world that was started in Hyperion. Only complaint on this is that they switched to one narrator for this book, whereas Hyperion had several. This book is way better than Hyperion which was also quite good.

Above all expectations!

I really enjoyed reading, and listening to, Hyperion. So much so that I figured the sequel HAD to be an inferior book. I was very wrong. If anything, Fall is a bit better than the first novel. The plot moves in directions I never saw coming, the characters are fleshed out even more and the ending all but blind sided me (in a very good way). I hated to see the story come to an end, and can't wait to get into Endymion!

I was driving down the highway when I listened to the last couple hours of this book. I had fully intended to give the story a break and listen to something else in between. But I had the third book, Endymion, ready on my iPod and the conclusion to this one, the second of the series, was so gripping I couldn't help but keep going.

I was a little disappointed about the change of storytelling format, particularly after book one, but quickly got over it. It doesn't really stand on its own though, so read Hyperion first.

Must Read Science Fiction

Extremely well written story, even better than the first. Highly recommended. Haven't found anything this good since Frank Herbert's Dune.
