Predictable

I think I got through the first third of the book and had to stop. It's a tame "house on haunted hill". My tastes are a bit more shock and gore. The narrator is awesome and I've read other books by this author I liked. This one just wasn't for me.

meh

the very beginning was interesting, the narrator I just couldn't get into, and then the story took a change and it kind of lost it for me.

Don’t bother

I read the mixed reviews before purchasing and thought it was worth a try. It isn’t. Not even if it had been free. The narrator is comical in his “girl/woman voice”. So it’s hard for a story to be suspenseful when it sounds like someone is making a spoof. The story is hard to follow on top of that.

The narrator made the listen impossible.

I saw this title and thought “oh neat! Three books for one?” Well it was my mistake to not sample it before buying it (it was my free credit but still.) and listening to the narrator was more painful than anything the characters endure. The story was good though (I only finished the first one) if not predictable as all get out. So I recommend this book only if you can tolerate the narrator or are able to do the book in small sections.

Good story…

A bit too long, tho. I started getting bored into book 3. Could the story have been written in 2 books? With that, however, I must say these books were very well written! And the Bonus stories were excellent.

Its fabulous - 3 books for 1 credit!

When Paul Mahan was looking for an apartment - the space at Rookwood Apartments seems to good to be true. Moving out from his friends home and into a nightmare was not on his plan! Over these three books you'll live the fear of the living, the pain of the ghosts, and all the things that Paul does to try and alleviate Rookwood of its horrifying past.

This book goes into some of the incredibly terrible experiments that were done to those that were "mentally" ill - or maybe not even... not in depth - but enough to know it was not a great time in history.

I loved the books - they were incredibly well written - fabulously well narrated on Audible - and fun. I highly recommend them!

This is so worth the credit!

When I first got this book I had no idea at the end of the last story that was over three hours of short stories. My favorite thing on the planet or short stories by scare street. So even if you’ve read all three of these books it is so worth getting because of the short stories did I mention they were my favorite things on the planet. I love them! Oh yes and Brooke with asylum Series is an awesome bonus to the short stories. I mean they have demented ghosts who are doctors, little girls cranky men ET see in other words the whole collection is freaking awesome!

Awesome series

Truly great series from Scare Street and David Longhorn. Had lots of scary moments and was read by one of my favorite narrators.

Great series and short stories!

I loved this series when I read it before the box set came out. The box set makes it better, not only because I don’t have to try to remember what order to read the books in, but I don’t have to change between books, and it has some really great bonus short stories at the end of this one. I highly recommend this series.
