Hysterical telling of the dangers of social media

The story itself, if true, is very creepy stalker-esque. The author/narrator does an okay job. His voice is monotone, so no intonation during funny or sarcastic moments. He does crack a couple jokes that would be funnier if his voice was more interesting. The story is definitely funnier than probably intended.

Free, short and different...but not really good

STORY (personal memoir) - This is the story of a lonesome male songwriter who admits he has a miserable existence, highlighted by failed relationships and an addiction to alcohol and drugs. He begins an online relationship with a girl which lasts about a month. They share their deepest secrets and fantasies, and she even sends him nude photographs. They are both "damaged" individuals and seem bonded by their problems. He becomes totally obsessed with her and dreams of a real future together...until he meets her in person. I don't want to reveal too much in case you decide to listen to it, but I will say he is surprised by who she is and feels duped by her deception. Their relationship really goes downhill from that point. The whole story is about screwed-up people in a screwed-up relationship. Like I said, it's different. The ending is okay.

PERFORMANCE - The author reads his own work and does an okay job. He has a very low voice which might be almost sexy if he were reading different material.

OVERALL - It's not bad, but it's not good either. It's an easy listen with lots of sexual language, and it's pretty dark. This is a free download so it's worth the "money," but I don't know if it's worth the time (1:17).

Why does this have such a low rating?

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Yes...it was quick ad it was good...very real and its about something that happens every day!!!

What was one of the most memorable moments of Are You Lonesome Tonight??

When he finds out who she really is....I kinda knew it...women are sneaky..I should know since I am one...lol

What does Mishka Shubaly bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

He gives it life...and its believable...I like believable characters...

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

HATE THIS QUESTION!!! Lets quit asking this please!

Any additional comments?

I liked this little short...I like stories that you can relate to, and this one, almost everyone can relate to...this should not have such a low star rating....its totally worth a listen! And I'm going to check out some more of this authors work...he has kind of a Jasinda Wilder vibe to me...and I like that!

A dark little love story

So, I think I would have liked this more if it was a true story and someone was kind of willing to bare their soul with it. As it stands, as a work of fiction, it was interesting in a dark and twisted kind of way. It was a nice diversion as I was doing some light housekeeping.

found a new author

Should have written this review when I read the story. It's been so long I can't comment on it specifically, but I do remember quite clearly what I did immediately after reading it. I googled the author and added all his other titles to my wish lists.

Nice little story

The story is nice but never reaches anywhere for my taste. its not bad but never got me hooked on wanting to know what was next.
On the other hand it is short so it was nice overall.

fair but not my style

a story about stalking, drinking, drugs and promiscuity. I'm not much on sleeping around. My morals are better than that

At least it was breif

Self absorbed, lacked creativity in language as an attempt to keep it real and gritty. Better served as a journal entry for self improvement. Mildly entertaining and insightful, but just barely.

Crazy People

I liked the book, it's crazy to think that there are people out there like this lady. people who stalk others and make up fake profiles in order to meet people. I can relate to his feelings wanting to be with someone but picky about who you choose to be with.

Now I know why it was free.

An hour and a half of my life I can't ever get back. Now I know why this book was free.
