Awesome! book.

The dash diet part (the second book) makes sense and seems easy enough. Awesome! These recipes are simple and easy and no-fuss. So far everything I have made has been very tasty. I recommend!

The first half was good.

The first half was good. I haven’t begun the last half however it is good to know I have an alternative diet to try if the first one isn’t quite working out for me.

I love this book.

It’s refreshing to listen to an honest dissection about dieting. I’ve tried a few diets in the past (who among us hasn’t!) and while they worked for losing weight, I soon gained back the few pounds I lost. From what I’ve listened to so far in The Anti Inflammatory Diet Motivation book section, this isn’t a quick-fix weight loss meal plan. Instead, it is an honest hard-hitting look at how our over-processed meals are doing much worse to our bodies than simply making it a little too easy to put on weight. It is also about how some of the most rampant autoimmune problems could be unwittingly caused by our every mouthful of food.

Eye-opening in parts but not a real game-changer on the subject. Still, the two writers have managed to thoroughly explain each diet enough that you can get started without a hitch. Not bad overall.

Very interesting '

Very interesting take on the solid research studies into both dash and anti-inflammatory diets. I was already following the Anti Inflammatory diet (under recommendation from a friend) and wanted to have a better idea of the science surrounding why inflammation affects me so. The stacks upon stacks of recipes at the end of each book were difficult to get through but that doesn’t take away from the great advice given in the rest of the book. Thankfully, the recipe chapters are clearly labeled on the audible book, so it can be easily skipped if need be.

A lot of good research went into this lengthy book. Delving into two diets that are much more than your typical one dimensional ‘lose weight’ diet guide, I learned a lot about the nutritional studies that back up the health benefits of both Dash and Anti Inflammation diet plans.

This audiobook really work.

This audiobook was pretty much as advertised. Far from promoting more fad eating both books teach health regimens that really work (in fact the DASH diet comes highly recommended by the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute in the USA.

Excellent research.

Lots of ingredient suggestions that can help you easily swap out bad foods (white bread, gluten-heavy pasta, red meat) for good options (vegetables, chicken, leafy greens). I am not too sure about how effective the Anti Inflammatory diet will be against chronic inflammation as I don't suffer from chronic inflammation myself but there looks like they did a lot of excellent research into how certain foods can zap away at the energy of people with auto-immune related problems. I haven’t started on the other diet book in this two-book audiobook yet so I will update my review as soon as I do.

It was alright all in all.

It was alright all in all. I knew of the anti-inflammatory diet before I started listening to this - in which was why I picked this book in the first place - but the DASH diet is a new one to me. A US government health guide intuitive DASH is a simplified way to eat that can help reduce the chances of heart disease. There is nothing quite like it recommended over here on the NHS website in the UK (I am guessing the two authors are from the united states but there doesn’t appear to be anything about them on their author page).

Easy to listen and understand.

If you want a no-fault blame-free way to begin changing your relationship with food for the better then give this book a read. There is a certain sense of peace that comes from knowing that I wasn’t in-fact crazy and that there were certain foods that were leaving me feeling exhausted after a meal rather than re-energized. Ditch the dysfunctional eating habits and start a more positive diet journey.

Highly recommended.

With a focus on food quality instead of calorie counting, this bundle of diet books - Anti Inflammatory Diet and the Dash Diet - do away with artificial preservatives and processed meats. In there place comes highly recommended fruits, whole grains and lean meats along with a plethora of recipe ideas anyone can try out in the kitchen.

I really need to know the history of a diet.

To be perfectly honest I am going to invoke the 80/20 Pareto principle here; about 20% of this book is really useful advice. But the other 80% reads more like filler… do I really need to know the history of a diet before I am able to follow it? I wouldn’t recommend this book right off the bat but it is a decent enough listen if you are battling the bulge and looking for a less extreme dieting guide that doesn’t make out like carbs are your enemy.
