Insightful

What I liked about the book is that it recognize anger as a real emotion to be understood and not suppressed. It is true also as this book entails that many of our emotional states have origins in our childhood. It is very difficult indeed to dust off this mirror of the past and recognize that those childhood experiences that we disliked the most when our parents got angry, are the same ways that we are doing to our own children, repeating what should have been stopped.

Its a good book if the man receiving it is willing

Our therapist is actually reading it now since we told him about it, and loves it. So our therapist approves! Its a good book if the man receiving it is willing to complete the work not just listen through it. Self reflection is the most important part.

Good for understanding why your angry

The book gives excellent examples of why we as men get mad. But for me gives very little insight into how to really start making headway towards calmness. I did enjoy the information expressed, however.

Doing a good soul search within yourself

Absolutely essential book to understanding anger. The book is accurate in Author's view of anger, how most people cope, and makes you think about the past in the present, doing a good soul search within yourself, and use techniques to manage your anger, and not manage others for your own self health.

Well explained.

I have learned new ways of coping, and I have seen a definite decrease in anger spells and fits of 'uncontrollable' rage. You have to practice what you listen, actively, even when you don't want to. This is worth the money. Hopefully, this can help you as it helped me.

I use this book with my anger management clients. The feedback I get is very positive. Most people who have been struggling with anger are impressed with just how well this book understands their situation. The abundance of tools, plain language, and real-life application make it easy to apply right away.

Best Available Anger Management Book for Therapist

As a Professional Counselor who provides therapy for couples and individuals as well a Group Counselor teaching Anger Management, I have not found a better book to utilize for this concern. It is research based, provides physiological reasons for anger, re-conditioning tools and real life experiences.

Practical Advice and Exercises I can Use

As man hoping to marry a wonderful woman, this is a great resource. I dealt with racism years ago and realized I needed to move past the anger and forgive. This book is giving me the means to develop an attitude of discipline for my emotions and actions to exercise that discipline.

Nice audiobook!

The audiobook is very helpful in explaining some of the underlying causes of anger and in providing exercises that are very well worth pursuing. The advice is grounded in a strong sense of realism about the perseverance and commitment needed. However, the benefits of demonstrating this are very well justified. The hypnotherapy recording at the end of the audiobook is a really valuable bonus.
