Fiona, Sue, and Daisy, three retired ladies who volunteer at the local charity shop, Dogs Need Nice Homes, can’t believe their favorite customer is dead. Eighty-six-year-old Sarah Brown was found murdered in her hallway by her delivery man, a domino clutched in her hand—with a name scratched on it. When another person is found dead with a domino in their hand, and with the police making no progress, the ladies will need to help unmask a serial killer. At least they have Fiona’s scruffy-haired terrier cross to assist them.

There’s a literary niche for all tastes including those who think that either Agatha Christie wasn’t funny enough or that PG Wodehouse didn’t feature anywhere near as many baffling murders as he could have. The Case of the Canterfell Codicil is a classic, cozy, locked-room mystery written in the style of an homage to PG Wodehouse.

Publisher's summary
In the small town of Dewstow, 'tis the season for gold, frankincense, and murder...
It’s Margery’s first year as kitchen manager for Summerview school and supported by her wife, Clementine, she is trying to stay focused.
When a tragic accident claims the life of the music teacher during rehearsals for the Christmas concert planning, they are caught in the crossfire. Mrs Smith, the Head of Drama, becomes the prime suspect, and is desperate for the Dinner Lady Detectives to clear her name.
Mrs Smith is convinced that it’s sabotage by her rival from Ittonvale Secondary, but there’s evidence that points to her own misdeeds. Can Margery and Clementine trust their friend? And when things start to heat up in the kitchen, will they make it out in time?
A charming and festive British village mystery, perfect for fans of Robert Thorogood and Fiona Leitch.
In the peaceful town of Dewstow, dinner ladies Margery and Clementine's calm existence takes a chilling turn when they discover their kitchen manager dead in the school's walk-in freezer.
The police deem it a tragic accident, but the duo smells something rotten. Diving headlong into an investigation of their own, they must navigate the secrets and dangers lurking beneath the surface of their quiet community.
Eccentric and undeterred by danger, these two unlikely detectives refuse to let the case go cold. The Dinner Lady Detectives series by Hannah Hendy is a delightful and suspenseful mystery series that will thrill fans of Richard Osman and Anthony Horowitz.
Hannah Hendy lives in a small town in South Wales with her long-suffering wife and two spoilt cats. A professional chef by trade, she started writing to fill the time between shifts.

Story
In The Worst of You, just-wed architects Timo and Nia flee a murder scene, setting in motion a chain reaction of lies and betrayals that threaten to unravel everything they have built together. Twisted and propulsive, this thriller is told from the alternating perspectives of the couple and those close to them on Williwaw Island, each with their own motive to use the outcome of the murder case to their advantage. When a huge storm sweeps up the coast, trapping everyone on tiny Williwaw Island, it’s a race against time—and the elements — to stop the murderer from striking again.

Story
My husband and I are fighting for our lives in hospital after a terrible car accident. But despite my pain, all I can think about is what our families will find behind our front door. The scarf that has been all over the news, belonging to a dead young woman with honey-coloured hair. I have to speak to the police before my husband can. I’m drifting in and out of consciousness, but when I hear my wife talking to the police, accusing me of the murder of an innocent woman, a cold fear grips me. I know I’ve got a temper.

Fantastic
Very fun story with interesting characters. The narrator did an excellent job and it was easy to tell the characters apart.

Who is who??
The narrator is fantastic but it’s so hard to keep characters straight since personalities are not developed, they are sometimes referred to by first or last name and there’s a Karen, a Saran and a Sharon (and apparently not an editor??)

Don’t Waste Your Time
This sequel was such a disappointment. The first book was ok, but this one made the characters so unrealistically meek and willing to be verbally abused and taken advantage of, or so pathetically petty, I couldn’t finish it. An absolute waste of a credit.
